Super Deluxe Pixels!
An all-new next generation graphics and lighting engine brings to life the world of Fallout like never before! **

** except for the character models and faces. Those we ported directly over from Fallout 3.

Seriously, it has to be a bug or something. Even though setting Ultra quality, the models are stuck at low. They are just TERRIBLE.

Btw, I spent two hours last night sprucing up Sanctuary for those 5 NPCs you take there. Exploring the Wasteland? Ain't nobody got time for that! I'm CRAFTING BEDS AND CHAIRS HERE!!

Btw, why on earth does your character know how to build all this stuff? He's a military guy. His wife was a lawyer. How on earth is he the world's master carpenter? Why can he build a generator from screws and glue and steel without even a blueprint? This really should have more work done to it, so that it slowly unlocks. Or an NPC that build stuff for you, or something. It makes zero sense that your character knows how to do all this.

The simulation is tied to framerate so unlocking it can have hilariously broken results, I highly recommend keeping it at 60 until modders get it all figured out. Gunplay improvements are great, feels a lot more enjoyable now. Graphically I'm satisfied, its a Fallout game and looks much better than the silly console leaks. No crashes or other issues. I tweaked mouse acceleration out and was off to the races.

I'll just jump in and say that I only had one bug last night, and it was probably a Steam bug where "tab" didn't always work when switching from the overlay.

Happy that quite a bit of the crafting is unlocked at the start. Just gotta get a few more perks to unlock more stuff.

Game looks amazing, though I predictably died when I went off scavenging for more junk to build stuff. Protip - modding a pipe pistol into a sniper rifle is all fine and dandy, but go for the bayonet instead if you're only going to bring 3 bullets with you...

How does the saying go, never bring a knife to a gun fight... unless you only have 3 bullets.

I'm a bit sceptical of Fallout 4. It looks five years old. Also the negative user scores have surpassed the positive scores on metacritic at the time of writing this. Reading a lot about bugs too.

Without net for a few days, so had to head over to my sister's and downloading as we speak.

I did stop by Target this morning and picked up 3 of the 6 bottles of Nuka Cola Quantum. That's right, 6 whole bottles! I'll drink one, save one and sending one to a friend.

See you all on Friday!

How does Fallout 4 run on older computers? Say, one with a AMD Phenom II and a Radeon HD 6950. I'm, like, uh, asking for a friend :/

And a very positive score at Steam (out of over 4,000 user votes).

Having fun with this so far. I have run into surprisingly few bugs for a Bethesda game. I've got 6 hours in or so and haven't actually had any bugs that impacted gameplay. Haven't crashed or run into performance issues either. I was going into this expecting a lot worse, based on things I had read.

So far I've had fewer issues than I had with previous Bethesda titles.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

Most of the "bugs" posts seem to be from PS4 players whose consoles didn't download the day 1 patch or XBone players who preloaded "too early" and got a stub with a bunch of missing files.

I whined about how long it too to decrypt the Steam files after midnight, so I can't imagine how it would feel to have to redownload an entire game you already preloaded.

For the most part it looks fine, every once in awhile you run across a particular texture that looks old but it doesn't really compromise the immersion in the world IMO. I suspect they probably omitted some of the higher res textures by accident in their rush to ship. People have been complaining about the models and animations which is fair but again it hasn't really affected my enjoyment of the game. The engine is definitely due for an overhaul soon however, this is the last game they can probably get away with these things.

Enjoying it so far (2 hours in). Agree with Creston about the Character Models, kind of 'meh' but other than that, the environment looks very nice with a GTX 970. No bugs so far, changed the FoV to 90 in the 3/4 different .ini files and took off Mouse Acceleration. Going for a Sniper SPECIAL build, my close-up twitch days are numbered.

Must be a BN's poster... from Steam User Reviews...

Full screen 30fps. GOOD ♥♥♥♥ING THING I SPENT $2000 ON A PC THAT RUNS $500 QUALITY CONSOLE GAMES.

Oh you want to play 60fps? Well either play on half your screen or download all these ♥♥♥♥ing mods to fix WHAT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN A ♥♥♥♥ING GAME.

11 ♥♥♥♥ing hours after release and you already need to download mods to play the game properly.

♥♥♥♥ this.

- or this -

1. poor graphics
2. poor dialogs
3. bad optimization, high fps drops.
4. no crossfireX (its personal)

The gfx are good ya pampered asses.
