Prelim reports from reading some users diving into it (I assume they are telling the truth):
- choices/consequences reduced or diminished (less or no checks for completing quests or conversations via charisma, perception, or intelligence)
- lots of npc quest givers unkillable (bethesda couldn't think of a way for a quest to continue without said npc)
- no consequence to having multiple companion lovers
- lots of Kill and Fetch quests (unable to go non-violent route, less alternate ways to complete them)
- story narrative is predictive and not well written, including some really hammy dialogue
- you can obtain power armor and high level mini-gun in first area of game and you can use it no sweat
- invincible companions
Pros:
- If you want a mindless wasteland shooter with reduced RPG elements, this is the game for you (basically Rage 2.0), i.e. the shooting aspect is less garbage.
- a few sparse side quests are listed as "interesting"
- looks more colorful
Yet another so called masterpiece 'rpg' walking simulator shallow-world. Frankly Bethesda is falling behind the curve and should just make their next Elder Scrolls a Sandbox game without 'quests' or reading. Of course it has good reviews on Steam, that's where all the mindless sandbox games are as Bethesda seems to cater more now to a younger audience who want easier games without choice/consequence (and big booty bounce mods).
As I've said before though, this won't prevent me from buying the game in 2 years where to ME it is worth exactly 5 bucks or less for some mindless FPS Action. An average so-so "rpg."
