I played Halo:CE on the PC and remember thinking "okay, this is fun. Not really earth-shattering, but fun."

The Halo 2 was ported rather badly and my impression was "well, this is pure shit," and went back to playing BioShock and Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

The Halo series hasn't been on my radar for years, unless some Xbox fanboi tries to preach to me what an amazing and creative series it is. The thought of jumping back into the series on the 5th installment holds absolutely zero appeal to me. And considering all the excellent options available to me on PC, I don't see that situation changing at all.

ha! what a bunch of bullshit. they've said this for every game since 3. (alternating between these announcements and the annual "microsoft is committed to pc gaming" bluster) i don't know why they bother with the pretense.

i actually loved halo on pc, wish i could have played them all. fighting felt solid, cool story, tight controls (once you killed the always on mouse acceleration)

If Microsoft was smart they would take the entire collection and put it on the PC in one package.

Here's the thing: MS had the chance to build a solid PC community for this. Like a lot of things MS tries, they totally fucked it up. The first two Halo games were released on PC, years after console. I guess their thinking was that PC gamers would shell out for an XBox to play it if they really wanted to. Nope, we decided to play UT 2004, Far Cry, and Q3 instead. Releasing your game 2 years later is not the way to endear yourselves to us. So, basically, they chose not to build that community. They left money on the table.

Now they'll release Halo 5 to PC, sales won't be good because there's no community, and they'll draw the conclusion that PC gamers don't want Halo.

I've come to the point that I ignore most grammar/spelling errors online. The only one that still makes me bang my head against a wall is the prevalence of "loose" being used for "lose" with greater frequency. I'm concerned at some point oxford dictionary is going to decide to add the latter definition under the former when they add all those other stupid words each year because of how popular it is becoming.

No interest, especially since I hadn't played since Halo 2 was on the PC. If they want folk to buy Halo 5 they should release the previous games on PC too.
