GamesRadar livestream with Frank O’Connor of 343 Industries touches on the
possibility that Halo 5 will eventually make its way onto the PC
platform.
DSOGaming transcribed the following quote on the chances of a Windows port
of the shooter sequel:
You know, Microsoft has made a huge commitment trying sort of… I think normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms. You see the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear in Xbox and Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC. Nothing to announce at this point… you know, we developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff. But nothing I announce today on this chat.

If Microsoft was smart they would take the entire collection and put it on the PC in one package.
Here's the thing: MS had the chance to build a solid PC community for this. Like a lot of things MS tries, they totally fucked it up. The first two Halo games were released on PC, years after console. I guess their thinking was that PC gamers would shell out for an XBox to play it if they really wanted to. Nope, we decided to play UT 2004, Far Cry, and Q3 instead. Releasing your game 2 years later is not the way to endear yourselves to us. So, basically, they chose not to build that community. They left money on the table.
Now they'll release Halo 5 to PC, sales won't be good because there's no community, and they'll draw the conclusion that PC gamers don't want Halo.
