I'm really curious how many folks will hop on board to paying YT. And when YT starts trying to block ad block plus and the like...
I did just read:Today YouTube confirmed that any “partner” creator who earns a cut of ad revenue but doesn’t agree to sign its revenue share deal for its new YouTube Red $9.99 ad-free subscription will have their videos hidden from public view on both the ad-supported and ad-free tiers.

Also, I'm just going to call it "Redtube" from now on. Can't be bothered to type the full name.

"PewDiePie’s production company made over $7.45 in 2014"... You wouldn't say.
As for free content, see that is being a bit entitled there, asking for something for free. I'm not for it, but hell there are costs and people wanting to make a profit, that's how it works. Online content, mods, what have you. They have a fair right to charge and you have a fair right to decide.
Had it been paid from the beginning, it might not have been such a big deal (although arguably, it probably wouldn't have the success it has now). It's when you go from offering something for free to charging for it, that you get the push back.
I think another question is the value of YT. Depending on how much a given person uses it, is it really worth $10 a month? to me, that seems pretty steep.
