Out of the Blue [Oct 14, 2015, 09:32 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
I'd warn you to prepare for over-sharing, but I think most of you are used to it
by now. I will be fasting today as I prepare for a colonoscopy tomorrow, as I've
finally consented to this routine, if intrusive, procedure. This will involve
not eating solids for most of the day, and eventually drinking a bottle of
prescription Montezuma's Revenge to pave the way (or unpave it, so to speak).
I'm told that a guy will typically lose five pounds in the process, so this can
apparently be a little rougher on those as skinny as I am, but I presume I will
survive just fine. The fasting in advance does recall an old joke... something
about how the least the doctor could do is buy me dinner first.

My father had a colonoscopy earlier this year, they name dropped Gatorade more than a few times in the prep instructions to avoid dehydration. Really anything heavy with electrolytes, I just found it strange they kept mentioning Gatorade.
