The PC version was a wasteland last time I tried it, took forever to fill a game.

Yep. If the game didn't take up 50 gigs I'd still be playing, easily.

I blame the install footprint size. I mean their bullshit excuse for not having compressed audio was for performance reasons, at the very least you should have been able to cut it free from your hard drive once you completed the audio log campaign they put in.

sigh, this game is so good, it's saddening to see the utterly barren PC servers... meanwhile there's tens of thousands still playing with oh the xbone...

I'm still kicking myself for spending $60 on this game. I hope they do put some SP action in but I think they are to busy spewing obscure numbers to give a damn.

The PC version is pretty barren. Not many people sitting in the matchmaking queue. You can jump right in on the Xbox though. My boys still play it from time to time. But we enjoy Destiny more for that though. There's no mechs, but at least we're earning loot and upgrades.

Well there you go! It's not hard to get 10 million people to try your game when you're giving it away for free, just look at the Android and iOS app stores...

Origin does not really have a "free weekend thingie". What they have is called "Game Time" and it is a fairly permanent thingie.
Everyone with an Origin account can play the Game Time games for free for the attributed time which in Titanfall's case is 48 hours (i.e. play time).
Titanfall has been on Game Time since June 2014 so that's a really extended "weekend thingie" right there .

Other games you can play for free:

- The Sims 4 (48 hours)
- Plants vs. Zombies (48 hours)
- Battlefield 4 (168 hours - yes you can play the SP campaign too)
- Kingdoms of Amalur (48 hours)


As for the 10 million Titanfall announcement, yeah, I'm sure that includes everyone who played the free Game Time demo so that's not really saying much.
