you guys are fuxing idiots, your arguing over a product/stories that may or may not be true, hearsay at best, and from sources who no one gives two squirrel fuxs about. Its a GAME people, who the fux cares who DS is, who care who CR is. CR is making entertainment, he's employing 261 people with a job, and he's doing something he loves to do. Get over your social justice internet saggy ball sacks and move on to real lives.
Yes, it is a game, one whose scope and design promises have changed repeatedly. This is worrisome to people who invested in the product when you consider that Chris Roberts has been down this path before, with a game called Freelancer.
If you read some of the history on that game, you will have an odd sense of Deja Vu. Eventually, due to feature creep and poor design decisions, Chris Roberts was forced to sell his company and game to Microsoft so that it could be completed. Microsoft forced the game out, but much of the promised game-play was missing or incomplete.
So it's quite easy to understand why people are freaking out. Is this Freelancer Redux, or can he pull it off this time? If he can't, I am sure a game company will step in and buy the incomplete product, but it isn't going to be anything like what he promised in the end.
As far as him making entertainment and employing people, that is all fine and well if he releases his product as promised. If he doesn't, then it really doesn't matter to the poor saps who spent hundreds or thousands of dollars to play vaporware.
