Hitman Rollout Detailed

IO Interactive announces their release plans for HITMAN, revealing a staggered rollout for the next installment in their assassination series. There will be an initial launch on March 11th offered separately as an Intro Pack, which will be followed by three separate monthly releases of new sandbox locations. There is a package which includes all the content as a subscription, and they will also offer Intro Pack to those who later decide they want the rest of the content. They say the way this is split up is due to popular demand: "We’ve had a lot of feedback since we announced HITMAN that has helped us shape these next steps," says Io-Interactive's Hannes Seifert. "It’s important that we listen to fans and that we’re open with what we’re doing. So today we’re sharing details on our release plan and we’re announcing something the community has asked for: a new price to enter the game at launch." Here's an outline (there was no footnote for the asterisk):
HITMAN will begin on March 11, 2016.

Players can buy HITMAN for USD $59.99[1], which includes all of the content, access to all live events and guaranteed access to the HITMAN Beta[2].

Also announced today, the new Intro Pack will be available to pre-order from this November priced at $34.99 and will include all launch content available on March 11, 2016 only, including Live Events and Contracts for those locations. Players will have an option to Upgrade [3] their Intro Pack to include the remaining HITMAN content for $29.99.

I thought after Absolution they were making a game like the originals ?

No, they've just been giving it lip-service while eyeing the rear of its fanbase for impending penetration.

This is probably the design document they came up with for the game before they thought about anything else.

I don't understand Square Enix lately. What is the point of this model? Are you trying to just fucking piss off customers as much as possible? Like what are they trying to accomplish?

Atlist they are honest about it ... And they don't sell a broken half finished game for 60$ and later say wait for a patch

I'm curious as to how the missions actually work out. If each location has two missions, do those missions take place in different parts of said location? Are do they take place in the same area? That would be kind of lame.

So rolling it out in pieces pretty much encourages people to wait for the GOTY edition in the fall. Bravo!

I don't get how they can keep delaying this game, and STILL go on with this bizarre Early Access-like unfinished release.

I don't see how this could be appealing to new customers, let alone entice fans. People who have played Hitman games in the past, to my knowledge, have no interest in a multiplayer experience.

All they had to do was create a single player experience with almost impossible-to-complete missions. That's where the sense of achievement came from - being the 'silent assassin'; with the possibility to turn into a complete bloodbath.
Does the new Hitman not have a proper SP campaign?

I was under the impression that it did but lately it looks like it doesn't.

So... early access, without calling it early access... This is kinda weird. I don't like Square Enix though.
