Out of the Blue

Farewell to summer, as today is officially the first day of autumn in these parts. The recent unofficial end of summer helped prepare for this as expected, as it's been getting steadily cooler. In the past few days I've started to notice it getting darker earlier as well, which can be a bummer, but I'll try and focus on the good news, which is that the Gunnar-man and I can take afternoon walks without the heat and sunshine melting my little buddy. And in further looking on the bright side, for all of you down under, happy spring!

Already class-action suits are starting to roll out, etc. That's why I said anyone who thinks buying VW stock at this point is a great deal is going to take a bath. As this thing snowballs it has the potential to break the company. At the very least its going to hurt it for at least the next 2 decades if it ever recovers.

You just said a few days ago that you believe in a magical youtube fairy that can predict everything that occurs in the stock market. Maybe people don't care what you think about car stocks.

That guy was nuts...I deal with black bear on my property on a nearly daily basis, and they are docile (yet still very scary) compared to brown bear.

I wonder if that behavior is just something that particular bear was in the mood to do, or if it's species wide... the "stare the potential threat in the eye, take a dump, then run off" move. Also, yeah that guy seems insane, if he was really that close (especially under the deck) and it wasn't just an effect of his camera's zoom.

I think he was on the deck, and putting his camera to see underneath. Still, the way he followed the bear around the side of the house was just stupid.

And, yeah, that bear gave a huge "Fuck You" to that homeowner with that dump.

Hmm, now I'm all curious.

It was a story about a puppy managing to shoot the guy who was trying to shoot some puppies. The Register linked it, and I got it from them not noticing it was old. They've pulled their story now too.

My eventual recollection that this may have been posted here at the time turns out to have
been accurate. The CNN story I linked at the time is gone, but The Register's link was to this AP story which is still online.

Oh, yeah, Thanks. Saw that all over the place yesterday. Didn't realize it was old.

IIRC was in Florida? Why is it always either FL or TX?

Um, Blue.

I'm sometimes getting pretty weird ads from your site. A hidden ad that blasts speech at high volume and another add that tries to send me to some other site with a popup. I feel like I'm on a pirate website.

I apologize. Such problems stem from a service being used here that allows ads to be sold at auction. The good news is that this has increased the rate they draw, but the bad news is it is being glitchy.

As you can probably see, there's nothing shady about the products and services being sold, but there is something odd going on where ads refresh themselves and sometimes play sound. I am assured that these problems have been mostly worked out, and are in the midst of being eradicated for good.

I am sorry for any problems you are still encountering as these issues are being dealt with. I hope you can be patient if it happens again, and if I can further impose, I'm told it can help accelerate clearing things up if we can offer specifics on what ads are misbehaving, either by identifying the product, or the URL the ad points to.

It's news if you've never heard about it regardless of its age.

And speaking of which....

The VW crime just keeps growing....

I missed that... Not sure why the Register just posted that. I pulled the link. Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned here at the time, too.
