Out of the Blue

Today may be a little quiet (or not, who knows?) since we're on the crest of a holiday weekend here in the U.S., as Monday is Labor Day here, a totally non-commie celebration of working for the man. This also marks the unofficial end of summer, though the season will continue for a few more weeks on the calendar. My perception is that these rules-of-thumb have been especially accurate in these parts lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if temperatures suddenly plummet after Monday. In fact, this has been so pronounced it would only be a small shock to wake up Tuesday to snow, or at least a yard full of dead leaves.

An accurate description of our modern life. Oh, wait, you meant the gorilla.

No crime has been committed. It's simply punished for being itself.

Zoos are disgusting...

For something as intelligent as a gorilla, you are probably right, but plenty of other animals can live happy fulfilling danger-free lives in zoos if their habitats are done right. Unfortunately, the animals people want to see, like apex predators probably don't make that list.

That's so weird. You guys have a Labor Day weekend. We have a Labour Day weekend ourselves. So I doubt they're the same thing.

Wry

One is free to walk away and roam around the world. The other will forever be caged and enslaved in order to amuse its captors. No crime has been committed. It's simply punished for being itself.

Man, that Maui vid is intense. Dude is lucky he didn't have his head smashed in.

That gorilla vid is too cute though.

Hey Blue!

You have an auto-playing Verizon ad. It starts with a large countdown covering 80% of the ad from 30 seconds, and then starts auto-playing with audio. The countdown looks like "AD | 00:29" and is gray on a black background.

I don't know if this is intentional or just an ad provider gone rouge, but just thought I'd let you know!

Totally rogue... should not be happening. I'm on it, thanks for the heads up.

So I assume this "Force Friday" is a marketing ploy? Or have I been missing it all these years?
