If they would cut the monthly fee in half, I would keep my sub active even if I wasn't playing. That way I could jump on whenever I felt the urge.

I don't know man, FFXIV last I heard 2 months ago had about 4 million active subscribers, and that number only went up since the expansion. Maybe people are leaving WoW for FFXIV?
It wasn't 4 million active subscribers, it was 4 million "registered accounts."
Like wow
In Jan 2014, World of Warcraft broke 100m registered accounts.
So no, not like WoW. Not in the slightest.

Most of the buzz I've heard is because there is too little content in Warlords of Draenor. There will be no more patches for WoD, instead they will drop the expansion next year.
Most people actually like Mists of Panderia better, it had a lot more content and a continent that was actually fun to explore.
Word is that WoD focused too much on the solo garrison system and ignored creating fun content for everything else. Also, there was no new race or class in WoD so people didn't have an incentive to level a new alt. In Mists of Panderia they had a new monk class and a new Pandaran race.

My opinion differs. To me it was the same thing in terms of no fun was found in either after a while. Why each were un-fun, yes that is different, really that part goes without saying, the idea that after a while both go bad is the point.
LSD is documented on doing that for most users. MMO's the first was great, the second a little less so, after that and for years I was chasing after a feeling that isn't there anymore. Once the new basics were down, they all have these same mechanics that are un-fun to me that turn my brain off and I would start dozing off while playing. It's why I want personal servers where we can mod.
