Konami announces the PC edition of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
will be released simultaneously along with other editions of the stealth/action
sequel, after
previously
announcing it would follow a couple of weeks after the console release.
What's looking like Hideo Kojima's final installment in the series is now
available for pre-purchase
on Steam which includes a few bonuses, including a copy of METAL GEAR SOLID
V: GROUND ZEROES, a couple of bits of DLC, and a "collector's video." Here's
word on the PC edition:
METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN heads to PC as a dramatic advance for the multi-million-selling franchise, expanding themes and content seen in METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES. As with its prequel, the PC version of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN hosts a stunning 4k mode, which adds incredible visual acuity to the game’s huge open world environment. I got it free with my recent 970 Video Card purchase, never have played the previous versions, but it's free so I'll give it a go.

Newegg gave me this for free after the Batman debacle. Looking forward to playing it, it'll be my first MGS game.
the AI looks retarded, like bad enough to make the game less fun
but it still looks awesome imo
btw the performance is crazy good, its one of the best engines ive seen in a while.. im thinking Dying Light is a good comparison in terms of fidelity vs performance, and it honestly seems better than taht

I thought Ground Zeroes was pretty damn impressive (and I really didn't care much for previous MGS games), but I worry that it will be a sort of Hitman-esque situation. Even going back to the first Hitman game, with some in the middle being a bit better, the first level (the demo, when those still existed) was always incredible with a huge variety of approaches and freedom to design your own plan of attack, but very, very rapidly thereafter they deteriorated and there would be only a handful of relatively linear ways to finish it.

I recently grabbed Ground Zeroes (which sucks, seeing this preorder bonus) and after actually giving it a real chance this time and spending time with it, I love it. The game will be amazing. There's so much freedom even in Ground Zeroes that I simply can't wait.

They'll try and milk it w/o him, but it won't be the same. Last hurrah...at least the previews have been very positive. Sound like a cross between MGS and GTA.
