Though if you ever did look into that Crysis 2 tessellation nonsense, it is a great example of Nvidia getting things done to screw a competitor. Basically at the time NV had put a lot of eggs into tessellation performance on their hardware so that's where they shined. It's also not the only example of a game with some tie to Nvidia during that period suddenly tessellating the hell out of flat objects or even things which aren't visible.
