AntharioN This Month

Orphic Software announces a July 15th release date for AntharioN, their old school, turn-based, party-based CRPG. Here's the appealing elevator pitch: "Ever wonder what the frankenbaby of Baldur’s Gate, The Elder Scrolls, Ultima VII and Pool of Radiance might look like? Wonder no more because on 7/15/15 Orphic Software will give birth to a new kind of old-school RPG: AntharioN!" This trailer offers a look at what this is all about.

Looks exactly like a Spiderweb game, even almost exactly like the same engine, even the graphic assets look almost the same...

Spiderweb games actually look substantially worse...

I know gameplay comes before graphics, but the fact that they animated breathing of the characters but no movement based animation (walking, running, etc) is distracting...

The grammar of the announcements, the lack of Kickstarter communicating, and the weirdness of announcing pre-orders 2 weeks before the launch all add up to too many question marks and mild red flags... but the game looks charming.

And did they just say "interactive world"? Isn't that as bad as "multimedia experience" these days?
