World of Warships Shipstorm

Wargaming is dealing with backlash from unhappy customers over changes to a Humble Bundle deal for World of Warships, their upcoming naval combat game, though they have compromised from their original stance on the topic. The deal originally offered a premium ship (the Murmansk), premium game time, in game gold, ship slots, and closed beta access, but later players were told they would not be able to keep their premium goodies once the game went live. This met with backlash from customers claiming deception (especially after the ship then went on sale in the item shop), but the latest update on the World of Warships official forum now tells players they will be able to keep their Murmansk after all. This reddit thread is where this all boiled over, and the latest update to the original post notes that the other elements of the deal are still not being fulfilled. Wargaming's explanation is that they never intended the ship and other perks to carry out of the closed beta, even though the original offer stated they would. They edited the wording of the offer at some point after it was posted, but failed to revise their blog post, and for a while were trying to stand their ground, but eventually relented on ship ownership. Thanks Lord Solar Macharius.

Its just like WoWarships except from a top down view instead of first person. IT is also much more interesting strategically and tactically overall than the way too dumbed down for the masses crap that is WoW ( fitting this acronym btw, 2 dumbed down games now have it XD ).
If you were referring to me than no I have never played it and seeing some gameplay I am not really interested in it either.
I don't really care if WoWs is dumbed down or not I am having fun playing it anyways, and to have fun is why I play games.
So it fits the bill for me

Nope someone just trying to be funny most likely.

I noticed that when the account was registered, and would have taken action if it was some sort of troll attempt. But that handle actually appears to be based on that user's real name, and there is no indication that he is posting under that name to deceive anyone. Apparently it is just coincidence.

Interesting. I wonder if he knows? It just made me do a double take because he didn't sound like Krovven when he posted and then I noticed it was just registered and I got curious...

Hah, I saw him post the other day and was like, "Did Krovven just say 'yo' ?" Didn't notice that it wasn't him but you're right it didn't sound like him.

I have indeed played Navy Field 2 (and the PTO-series are some of my favs). Not a lot but some, just to see what it was about. In my eyes, it's an RTS-hybrid. I don't consider it a MOBA. We'll just have to agree to disagree...

Illegal where? Pretty much everywhere in the world that has contract law. If you think that them being in another country doesn't stop you from taking them to court in your home country, you've missed the last ~18 years of legal changes.

if they do business in the US, then US law applies. shame, it's a really fun game.

I really hope this doesn't die quickly. It's absolutely unacceptable.

After updating to .4 and playing a few games yesterday I decided to investigate why I didn't have my E3 Bundle stuff...and the shipstorm began. I was the one (or one of the folks) that sent the story into Kotaku. I've also submitted a ticket to Humble (not to get my money back, I don't care about that) but to get them to pressure WG.

You can find my posts in the related threads (2 of which are closed now), so I won't repeat myself too much here.

The game is fun, I had even purchased the preorder bundle and have been talking the game up to a few people. No more. I'm done with WG until this is fixed.

Well that's not going to bite them in the ass, nope not at all. Especially considering it's illegal as fuck.

Illegal where? These guys are from Belarus. A country with a 'legally' elected strongman dictator and a close ally of Vladimir Putin.

They have already reversed part of their decision to do this, but legality had nothing to do with it, they value their foreign income too much to do anything else really. It's not really much different than any US corp milking you dry, it's just that in Wargaming's experience the customer rarely has a choice or chance to talk back and just needs to suck it up. They are learning though, eventually they will figure out much more subtle ways of screwing their customers over, just like the US corps do.

It's always a big deal when a gaming company commits fraud. It just emboldens others to screw over their customers as well if they see another company getting away with it. It's bad for the industry and it's worse for us, the consumer.

Oh I really hope they will get into a lot of shit because of this. Just fucking incredible.

Many sites have picked up the story and are running with it. Wargaming is getting incredibly bad press over this mess. You'd think they'd want to just give people what they paid for, apologize and give a little extra, and then do damage control. Nope. They're giving people part of what they paid for acting like they are being generous and a half-assed apology. Un-fucking-believeable.
Yep and some people are thanking them for it too. What a bunch of fucking sheep!
This idiotism pisses me off to no end.

Consumer rights .. this is Hilarous .. you payed what 1 dollar to get the humble bundle in which the proceeds mainly went to charity.. I to bought the package but to make a supreme court case out of what most spent 1 dollar for is a bit over the edge don't you think.. I will be happy with whatever they chose to Give us.. For me the CBT invite code was worth the 10 dollars I gave.. Then I can earn a premium battleship with 50 games! I don't think playing I don't trust WG deserves your business or raging on.. I will be happy when OBT begins to listen to new rounds of the song, "cry me a River"

Popcorn anyone?
They get away with shit like this because the sheep let them to, and then thank them for it too.
