It should also be mentioned that they've admitted the E3 trailer/gameplay demo is slightly rigged for cinematic flair and expediency. The snake man/woman wouldn't actually get to use the grab move on the triggering turn, for instance (which would've been tremendously annoying).
A significant change for overwatch, if I've understood correctly, is that shots in XCOM2 are taken in sequence rather than all at once. So in the current XCOM, if you have six squad members on overwatch who all see the same enemy moving, they'll all fire on that enemy even if the first guy kills it - basically wasting five overwatch shots.
Oh thank you thank you thank you. Overwatch waste is soooooooooooooo irritating.
Hey, a thin man! EAT SIX PLASMA RIFLES WORTH OF DEATH. Hey, two Crysalids! Uh-oh...

Games like Syndicate, XCom, and Mechwarrior all had it. What other modern games allow this?
I don't know if you'd consider them "modern" anymore, but the Silent Storm series was turn based, 6 person party with classes and a wide assortment of weapons... great games.
Soldiers of Anarchy, another mostly unknown classic, real time like Syndicate and utterly insane in the number of vehicles and weapons available. Pretty short campaign with terrible voice acting, but what can you do? Not to be confused with any DayZ mods, I'm talking about the 2002 small squad RTS.![]()
SoA dropped off the face of the planet, and it's not on gog, but Silent Storm is.
It's definitely not a well selling genre though, until the recent X-Com remake.
THEY'RE GOING TO KILL EVERY ONE OF US!

I'd like to see a new Syndicate done like this. Not turn based though.
