Open Source MAME

A tweet from MAME announces this popular emulator software is going open source, saying: "MAME is going open source, if you have contributed in past and we still did not contact you please contact us at mamedev@mamedev.org." Gamasutra has more on the plan after chatting with MAME engineer Miodrag Milanovic. "There was intention to do this for years," Milanovic tells them. "Our aim is to help legal license owners in distributing their games based on MAME platform, and to make MAME become a learning tool for developers working on development boards."

MAME has come a long, long way. A great emulator that allowed me to relive a lot of my arcade life years, here's to more years of MAME.
Yep. I remember discovering emulators, like MAME, back in in college (mid (19)90s).

For me, I read about MAME in the back of a PC Format mag, when it was then supporting a whopping 9 games. Crazy.

Rockstar made $1 billion in 3 days with GTAV, yet they can't find the budget to port RDR to PC.
