Firefly Cast Returns for Firefly Online

A new video highlights the news that the original cast of Firefly will reprise their roles in Firefly Online, the upcoming free-to-play game based on the short-lived sci-fi series. The clip features Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin, with Fillion saying that playing Mal was the best role he's ever had. This all comes from a larger piece on the topic available through the game's companion app, and Videogamer notes this reveals the only cast member not returning will be Gina Torres as Zoe.

Going by Joss's most recent comments, I would say it is far more likely that he will attempt to create a totally new IP before he revisits anything.

The answers Joss has been giving to interviewers are things that sound like "After so many years of doing Marvel's stuff, I need to go do my own stuff. I need to create something new again and make sure I still can." (paraphrasing)

Firefly, Buffy, Dollhouse....we all want to see more and everyone in the world knows it. It's literally money sitting there to be collected. I think some of that will be done but it really sounds to me like Joss isn't in any hurry to redo old stuff. It sounds like he wants to do new stuff right now. Can't say I blame him.

Castle and the Avengers, pretty much. Whedon was talking about it after Veronica Mars got crowd funded. He's busy, Fillion is busy. After those commitments are met, he said he will think about it. Shit, I'd love to see a Buffy reunion, another season of Dollhouse, more Firefly...and while we are at it the return of Stargate, Eureka, and Farscape as well.

Well, Milk was in 2008 and he was great in it, but point taken. He's not done too much since then. Gangster Squad, but I didn't see that so don't know how big his role was.

Hey Cutter...not trying to provoke a rant or fight....I'm just curious. If you believe in supporting the little guy, why would you use adblock? Take Blues for example....that's one of the few revenue models available. Hosting ain't free.

Never said I didn't whitelist, however I was speaking more in terms of buying physical products. I buy a lot of stuff on Etsy. And Blue has options too. Many of us have been saying for years he should be selling merch, ad-free sub services, patreon, etc. but he chooses not to. I'm happy to support him but not at the cost of marketing assholes tracking and targeting me.

Hint: You are pretty much always going to be enriching a douchebag somehow. If you spend your life trying to only give money to people whose politics align with your own, it's going to be the only thing you have time for. (And you'll fail anyway.)

Do you pay your taxes? Enriching douchebags.
DO you look at ads? (Of course you do, it's impossible not to.) Enriching douchebags.
Do you buy anything online? Enriching douchebags.
Do you buy gas for your vehicle? Enriching some of the biggest douchebags on the planet.

Don't have much choice about paying tax it's that or prison. And that's not really enriching someone. Unless you're a cave dweller taxes are a necessary evil. It would be a lot more fair if we got to pick and choose what our taxes support.

I'd wager my ad watching is minimal. Don't own a TV or cable service. I use adblock and ghostery for browsing. I'm very anti-logo. I go out of my way to buy clothing that doesn't advertise. I'll promote other peoples products if they pay me for it, but certainly not the other way around where it can be helped. For example, a beer rep once gave me a really nice $500 Italian leather car coat. Sure it has a small logo of their product on it, but that's fair trade.

Buying online is the same thing. It's about who you buy from. I buy from artisans/small business people where possible. Besides, online shopping in Canada is more of an afterthought compared to the US.

And again, I can't help buy buy gas. I travel too much for work for it to be practical to cycle and they don't allow people to ride horses on the highways now do they? So yeah, I have to do it, but I don't have to like it.

So as I stated, I at least make the effort to make my consumer dollars count for something better where possible, and everyone else should too. That's how it starts being a better world. When people just bend over and take it because they don't think it makes a difference that's when it becomes a shittier world. Our last municipal election here in my region saw a 29% voter turnout. That's fucking beyond pathetic. And then all these assholes do is sit around and piss and moan about how bad things are, as if it's supposed to somehow automagically get better by itself.

Go ahead and order yourself a bacon-crust pizza from Dominoes. They haven't been associated with Monaghan since '98. I'm sure he still has a bunch of stock in the company, but the company itself has been supporting a number of Gay Pride events since then and I don't think just because a company has a despicable investor means that it isn't worth your money.

Now the QUALITY of the pizza might still be reason to have issues with them.

Close, but the big difference might be that the character Jayne wasn't homophobic. For example he's turned on, not disgusted by Inara's female clients.
That's because the series let you see his private side. I am ready to bet money on that these extreme right wingers are all into BDSM and other "funny" stuff. So many of them get caught all clad in latex while riding a young boy and shouting insults in german. Happened before

Not to mention that girl-on-girl doesn't count as homosexuality for most gay bashers.
