ARPGs aren't everyone's cup of tea. That said, I found GD pretty underwhelming too, but then it was still alpha when I tried it last too.

Like others have said, I think the early game in PoE is kinda slow, but really only for the first character you make. After that, you generally have decent gear and cheap uniques to boost you through those early levels on future characters. I kinda wish they'd find a way to let us do that on the first char as well, while still letting new players adjust to the mechanics.

Things don't really start getting interesting until you're in the 30s at least and start getting support gems and start picking up more build-defining tree nodes. They've added a lot of cool stuff in the past year. It's so much better now than it was at release.

That's what I said. It was never intended to be derogatory, maybe you have that intention when you make the same comment about other games as you frequently do but I didn't. I genuinely admire F2P business models without P2W and think they are wonderfully accessible to many demographics. When you say something is 'for kids' people will always construe that negatively unless you're talking about a Pixar film. No one needs to go crazy over that but did you see expect anything different from him?

He's made the same type of comment in several other threads (D3, GW2, etc) so I don't see why it would unless he was trolling those. But I should've just ignored his usual BS so I'm sorry for my part in the derail. I'm older so I look at teens and sometimes early 20 somethings as "kids" by the way, its not intended to be derogatory.

I actually enjoyed my time with POE for the most part but grew bored with the combat. I'm glad they're doing well enough to keep making content for the fans though and maybe I'll check it out one day if my backlog ever finishes.

That's nice.. but none of that drops when you are or on the way to level 16 which is far as I give a game to wow me. This game just bored me to death. And the loot absolutely sucks

4 hours, level 16, 3 golden (1 usable), 0 legendaries (0 usable), 6 skills, 4 usable skills

The heck? Watching grass grow (the game) is more intersting than THAT.

In my experience playing over the past couple years, it's mostly adults playing. Have hardly run into any kids at all. All the streamers I've watched are adults as well. Don't have any scientific data to back it though.

Doesn't really matter anyway. Maybe D3 animations appeal more to the kids. I enjoy the gameplay in PoE.

He said it was a good game for kids because it is free. He didn't insinuate anything about the gameplay or styles or community, but you overreacted and went off the deep end anyway.

Kids generally don't have disposable income, so they can't buy every game they want... ergo F2P games are generally good options for them and this one returns pretty good value for your time invested. Was that so hard? It's about as straight forward and logical of a thought as one could have about F2P games.

You really prove him wrong about how much "kids" play this game though... by acting like one in every thread involving it on this website. Maybe being a child isn't so much about age as it is your general attitude towards... everyone else.
