BF Hardline Patch Notes: Couch Nerf Incoming

Battlefield Hardline Battlelog has patch notes for the Battlefield Hardline patch #1, saying they do not yet have an exact release date (thanks GameSpot). This includes a bunch of balance tweaks for the police shooter, including a nerf for the goofy couch. Word is: "Couch health reduced and repair rate decreased to a miniscule amount, making the Couch the one-off it was intended." Here are the full notes:
As usual, I don't have an exact date for you - that will be forthcoming once we pass Cert and all that other good stuff. Note that there are some issues fixed that are not covered by these notes.

BUG FIXES:

  • Fixed a server crash in Rescue
  • Increased the character limit in the MapList to support up to 150 maps in a rotation
  • You can now set the time limit to 0 and it disables the time limit instead of instantly ending the round in Blood Money
  • Various fixes for server crashes with rental servers (multiple issues addressed)
  • Fix for the timer in Conquest freezing when the user set the time limit higher than 800
  • Fix for MP squad join issue where after the squad leader gets disconnected, a new leader cannot kick members or disband
  • Fix for the patch awarded in released game for reaching Rank 10 in the Beta
  • Fix for Derailed Levolution where players were teleported to origin of Point B and killed in some circumstances
  • Fix for crash if the UI is disabled in the .cfg file
  • Fix for Bloodmoney exploit in HH where players could access the money pile through the floor/roof
  • Fix on XB1 for players using invite/join on friend after Quickmatching
  • Fix for the Uzi's weapon license cost, setting it to the correct value of $50,000
  • Fix for X360 players being unable to invite friends while playing Rescue
  • Fix for a rare crash in the Customize screen
  • All platforms, miscellaneous low frequency crash fixes

GAMEPLAY CHANGES:

  • Conquest tickets increased (CQL 999, CQS 600)
  • Greatly decreased nearby bullet impact flinch; your aimpoint will not shift from rounds striking the environment near you
  • Fixed some issues with FLIR/IRNV
  • RPG reduced to 1 ammo from back of cars, with smaller explosion radius overall thus requiring more skill to use effectively
  • TDM friendzones have been adjusted for better spawning
  • Rescue / Crosshair exploit where players could skip the round start time by hitting START or ESC has been fixed
  • Couch health reduced and repair rate decreased to a miniscule amount, making the Couch the one-off it was intended
  • Player should no longer Quickmatch into servers with unsupported numbers of players
  • K10: Reduce max damage to 33 and min damage to 8
  • Saiga and PTR: reduce recoil to bring more in line with Cop faction DMRs
  • HCAR and HK51: reduce recoil to bring more in line with SCAR-H and SA-58
  • .410 Jury: Increase damage per pellet to become more effective
  • FMG-9: increase damage per round to 25 and push out falloff start range to make these weapons more effective
  • Battlerifle min damage increased to 25 across the board
  • AKM min damage reduced to 24

If your favorite fix isn't listed here, don't despair - we're working hard every day to improve the experience, and we're always listening to feedback. Keep sharing your thoughts and point of view, and continue to engage in constructive dialog with us and each other.

Indeed. That film in particular is a singular masterpiece.

So many negative Nancy's. I'm having a blast with the game and different modes and have not yet ridden the couch of love. Not to mention I've had zero issues since launch.

Compared to the BF4 launch, this has been fantastic. I remember mid game crashing non stop at launch and services not running like Battle log.

The only positive I have about this game is that Origin's return policy.

So is the couch a salute to all the console money the franchise is raking in? They might as well just name the next installment Battlefield: Call of Cash Flow.

It seems the damage model is fine for hardcore, so called normal mode can be brutal if you're migrating from BF3/BF4. It's the other "tweaks" they need to do to hardcore mode like the missing squad player list and whatnot that they need to address.

Hardcore mode is so hardcore you don't even get to see who is in your squad!

I can't imagine anyone wanting even faster TTK than what's already in the game.

It's suppose to be hardcore. I have an issue with putting 2 rifle rounds right in between someones shoulder blades at very close range, and them being able to run around a corner, and defend/ambush/prepare/grenade/attack etc... You figure 2 5.56 ripping through your sternum would at least incapacitate.

The squad thing screws with me. Did they kick me?! Am I all alone?! *look around get 3 squad beacon bonuses and is surrounded by green icons*... Oh.

GMG has had deals on it (with coupon codes) but I don't know if any are active atm.

I bought it, am upset they nerfed hardcore mode. It's just normal with no map / spotting. Still takes 4-5 rounds to kill, I'm use to hardcore being realistic, not conquest with no map.

Good game design

In BF4 you had the whole "phantom program" where people had to decode secret messages in order to unlock skins and weapons - well the bow anyway. I think they saw this as a great success and wanted to emulate it for some of the weapon unlocks. Of course people are going to boost their way to getting them once the details are discovered. In BF4 you had servers dedicated as "no kill" zones looking for these hidden random dog tags on maps.

They've said that they intend to make it easier to get the achievements needed for the weapons but people will probably still want to boost their way to completing the objectives.

I don't mind meta games for unlocks but it's all on them for making them so retarded difficult to get.

I say embrace the couch and make more non-drivable items drivable:
- grills
- garbage cans
- dead bodies
- cafe tables

Ramp up the stupid. When the game feels like you're playing a multiplayer version of Saints Row 2 you're on the right track.

Not only that, but wtf is a couch doing as a vehicle in the first place? How much retardery do they got going on over there at EA?

I think they were trying really hard to capture the vibe of GTA games where you have people doing odd-ball stuff like racing down mountains in grocery carts.

The game isn't bad but it's sort of turned into a bit of a flubbed release, at least on the PC. Too expensive, not everyone is on board with the fast time to kill damage model, some of the weapon unlock grinds are so stupid that people have actually created "no kill" servers where all you do is drive around the maps in cars gaining XP and maxing out a "perk" system that's just about impossible to do otherwise because the rounds end too fast.

I think there's more people doing that in game than are actually playing the game objective.

That the developers cannot be trusted...but tell us something we didn't know... but seriously, all the recent BF games have countless balance patches that force you to relearn many mechanics and stats...yet another reason CoD deserves more respect. Advanced Warfare released in a very well-balanced state, and only has adjusted a handful of things. It is that reliability that so many of us appreciate. Please begin flaming me now.
