Broken Age Act 2 Next Month

IGN now has release date for Broken Age Act 2 that Double Fine promised when the second act went gold on Monday, saying this will come to North America on April 28th and to Europe the following day. Here's word on the plan:
Broken Age Act 2 will be available on April 28. 2015 in North America and April 29 in Europe. This date marks not only when you'll be able to continue the adventure you started on PC, but also when the entire Broken Age game will be available for cross-buy on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

If you've already bought Broken Age Act 1 on PC, Act 2 will be delivered as a free download. Likewise, once those dates hit, the game will no longer be split into "acts," and will only be available as one full experience for $24.99.

Neato.

Unfortunately, I don't even want to finish it anymore. Mr. Shitface was an asshole one too many times.

For reference, I'll gladly pay Fez. Phil Fish never pretended he was anything other than a complete prick. Schafer, on the other hand, is such a hypocritical disappointment that he managed to dirty his work, something I previously believed impossible.

Only his whole masturbatory joke of a career, culminating in him blatantly giving the finger to people who funded his bullshit over the past few months.

Yes: you have missed the fact that 007Bistromath seems to be completely out of his goddamn mind.

Oh. You're salty about the Molyneux thing, right? Just Schafer being generically conflict-averse, IMHO, which fits my impression of his personality. I disagree with him, but I feel no hate about it. He's a good writer, I don't need him to be right about everything.

Oh, okay.

So you're going to forgive the Molyneuxian over-promising, the disingenuous e-begging, the abandoned projects, and the fact that he got up on stage and said "fuck you" to hundreds of people that gave him money to do all that shit because of what amounts to a petty internet bitchfit between people who like games and people who like to make money writing about games?

They abandoned one project, right, Spacebase DF-9? Broken Age seems to have come through. What else are we supposed to be losing our shit in a mouthfrothing Internet rage over?

I don't, no - I'm quite angry with Double Fine specifically about the DF-9 situation, and don't expect I'll back any of their crowdfunding efforts again. As a company they've definitely squandered a lot of my trust with that one. But I don't really see much Molyneuxian over-promising from Schafer. In fact, Broken Age is far grander in scope than promised originally.

What's this "Fuck you" thing though? Did that actually happen? Maybe I did miss something.

Apparently he's bent about the Gamergate jokes at GDC because as is readily shown time and time again Gators can "make fun of" or "joke" about who ever they want but some one pokes them in the ribs it's all about the boycots and banning and censorship and burn and destroy. Maybe if people who were supporting of "ethics in journalism" didn't fly off the handle when ever anyone gave them even half the stick they give other people would take them a bit more seriously.

Awesome news. Looking forward to the complete game. As a backer of this game, I hope they'll go to kickstarter again for an adventure game. I'll back it in an instant, as long as the DRM-free option is there.

The fact Timmy scammed people then defended Molyneux to rationalize his own scumminess only compounds the scumminess of the scum factor. In fact I'd bet Timmy is the mayor of Mos Eisley.

Make that two. Iron Brigade is completely broken, and it's been almost two years since they promised they'd remove GFWL.

Did they promise that? GfWL or not, Microsoft is still the publisher, and MS isn't going to let the developer remove GfWL even if the game is completely borked. I've seen people raging their heads off about IB, but the fact is MS owns the property and they steadfastly refuse to admit there's anything wrong with GfWL, even in the face of companies stripping it out left and right.

Thanks. Yeah, seems pretty stupid of him to pour more oil into the fire, especially as late as March '15. Thought we were past that shit by now.
