new textures, sounds, dialogue, characters, setting, theme, vehicles, guns, game mechanics, game modes, and of course new maps. that's a new game. sorry! by your standards everything is a mod of quake. (infact the list of games that have used an offshoot of a quake engine is a long one, and they're all mods! it's true! not one unique game amongst them.) And this studio have been the ones working fixes for the "core game" in the BF4 CTE for the last year.

everyone, raise up! hold sway! using "it's just a mod" is a cop-out argument that holds no substance. let the people know!

this is very disheartening.

i want to hope that these weapons will be crap, but who knows. when i hear "assault rifle with the largest magazine" I remind myself of the PP-19 to soothe my anger. But who knows.

Like i said, they already tried this, and they were some of the best weapons in the game. fuck.

I was hoping to a return to competitive play myself, with hardline being an offshoot, it would probably stand on it's own for years to come, a must for any competitive game to not get dethroned every november by the latest in the series. It had that going for it, now this borks it.

but i return to my earlier point, who knows. Ubi just unlocked all the shit they had hidden behind a mobile portal, because they realised it was the wrong move. They could patch this out later, but it doesn't look likely, too many pissed off deluxe owners.

whatever, it would be nice to get a BN platoon going on, see if i can convince blue to start it. If he posts it, people will join. it would be nice to see anyone from here in a BF game. they're still my fav FPS series, but the competitive scene has been on life-support for a while now.

this is the first i'm hearing of this, this is a big deal. Last time there was something like this was in Bad Company 1, there were 5 weapons to get, 4 class weaps and 1 sidearm. You had to do dumb shit like subscribe to their newsletter for one, make a forum account for another etc. I think the F2000 was for pre-ordering, and it was a beast. Once i got a FragFX, it was UNFAIR. I went 17-2 in one round of Oasis conquest. where auto balance put 7 people on one team, and me on the other. I wish I had recorded that round.

I'm sure it'll make the news cycle in the next few days.

EA probably didn't see the pre-order numbers they were hoping to get after the first alpha/beta test, then they decided to jack the price up an extra $10 to get people to buy into their "exclusive weapons" deluxe edition.

Everyone had been assuming that they would just be timed exclusive for the deluxe edition but eventually everyone would get them, apparently that's not the case - they really are defining them as "exclusive" to pre-ordering.

If you pre-order the base game you get the ACWR, the deluxe version gets you the ACWR, L85a2, and the CAR-556.

The funny thing is that most places like Greenmangaming, Gamestop and Amazon don't even have a listing for the Deluxe edition for the PC.

They were actually trying to tempt competitive gamers into Hardline with 5v5 single life modes, rescue hostage and a protect the VIP mode and then they screw it all up with this nonsense.

there was a big "2" next to your ID in-game in 2142 if you owned 2142. and in Bad Company 2 there would be a number showing how many past battlefields you've played. mine was the biggest.

anyways, this is dumb, i never open battlepacks. don't care about that shit at all. i have over 300 +% XP boosts in bf4 that i rarely remember are there. at least there aren't hats.... yet? :/

I know you are joking, but the bipod knife(now a real thing, thanks BFF!) in BF4 has set the bar for great knife addons. A scope would be hilarious.
