I also found the controls weak for mouse & keyboard. I tried and quickly switched to using the gamepad. Multiple button combos work for gamepad a but not so much for M&K along with the auto aiming, just made aiming with a mouse pointless.

Fun game and I look forward to JC3.

Try this: Just Cause 2 Mouse aiming fix ('Negative Acceleration')

It transformed the game for me.

Just Cause 2 is still installed to this day.... I'll get 100% on all the cities/towns/villages/bases one day.

Or this will get released and bugger that plan up.

Be aware that the normal game, even fully patched, doesn't allow you to get to 100%. There is a mod out there that restores a few missing things which are needed.

I believe on the normal game you can only get to 99.7 or 99.8%
Yeah I am stuck at 99.8%.

Mine is on the Xbox 360 though so I'm SOL.

Oh nevermind this is for just cause 2? I believe just cause 1 for the console has some of the same issues - does anyone know if the same issues are found on PC as well?

If that bug still exists to this day, it should mean jail time for devs and publisher.

Execution of all involved and their relatives out to the third generation is obviously the only appropriate punishment.

I was in love with Just Cause 2. I never show any interest in demolition stuff in games -- I never use mines or bombs of any kind -- but somehow, in Just Cause 2, planting explosives and detonating them all at once, going from peace to total chaos in a second, was very addictive. I just couldn't stop blowing shit up!

Sadly I ruined it for myself by completing the main quest too soon. After that, I lose the will to continue playing. Just like that. Same goes for every Elder Scrolls game, too.

Edit: I only just now watched the trailer. WINGSUIT! FUCK YEAH

I went and read up on that, sort of killed my slow, glacial ambition to get it to 100%.

No worries, here's the mod!

I had similar issues with JC2, Xero. I didn't really feel like I needed to play it on a controller... but I never could get the key bindings comfortable to the point where I could play without thinking about what buttons do what.

Probably bears further investigation :p All accounts are the game is great fun.

Maybe they updated the controls, but I had no issues on my mouse only set up, that's 8 buttons, mouse scroll and left/right click, only 'stunt' bound to the keyboard. I didn't play with akimbo a lot because I prefer aimed fire though.

My step-son didn't really get into the first game but he loved the second game. Played it for hours and hours on both PC and PS3. I haven't told him about a third game yet because I am hoping to surprise him.

I on the other hand was kind of "meh" about both the 1st and 2nd game. Nothing really jumps out at me as a reason, they just didn't grab me I guess. Might have to go re-install the second one and give it a whirl just to see.

I have Just Cause 2 and try to get in to it but it has too many controls. I hate how you have to control each gun individually and reload each one, it's a pain.

Don't get me wrong, I love the concepts and idea of all the crazy stunts you can pull off but the majority of the time I'm trying to remember which key was for what with so many controls.

I know I know, it's probably controller worthy, but I will never succumb to it! lol

I have both the PC and the console version of JC 2 (hey it was a steam sale for like 2 dollars) and the xbox controller plays infinitely smoother than Keyboard & Mouse. I couldn't get very far in the PC version.

Courtesy of PC Gamer:

Tether-ism
Tethering things to other things was one of the best things about Just Cause 2, but it’s even more fun in the new game. You can now use multiple tethers at once (a maximum of three, but modders will deal with that), and adjust their tension at the touch of a button. So say an attack chopper is on your tail. You can tether it to the ground, then tighten the wires so that it pulls it down and smashes it into the ground. Or maybe you just want to tether a few enemies to your sports car and do doughnuts as they scream in terror. The potential for physics-based mischief and mayhem here is huge.

Multi-tethers and unbreakable tethers. FUUUUCCCKKKKK YEAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

Implementing the best cheat program for the game as an actual feature? Fucking yes.

Trailer didn't have enough Bolo SANTOZEEEEEE though.

Yeah I agree the fire propagation in FC2 was awesome.
The destruction and overall physics play in Just Cause 2 was pretty good actually. I remember knocking out the pillars of the gas station watching it collapse and explode.

LOL!
Not sure if this is pre render or in game, but if it is in game hopefully you won't need a quad SLI 980Ti rig to run this at 20fps

Pre-rendered footage means little to me but it does imply that it is something that they want people to focus on, so perhaps that shot is true and damn is it pretty! I enjoyed Far Cry 2's fire implementation and another step up would be nice, although there is more to this than nice screenshots - believable spreading and destruction are important too.

Just Cause 2 made me a little motion sick because of the frequent FOV changes so I hope they reduce that or make it optional. Red Faction Guerilla is unplayable because of this.

Can't wait for this game! So much mindless fun blowing things up and flying/driving/skydiving around the map.

I've never before read complaints of the controls being too complicated, but I guess if you've never played a 3D shooter or GTA game, then it could be complicated by comparison with Tetris or other 8-bit games.
