American Truck Simulator Video

The SCS Software blog has a new feature taking us behind-the-scenes at the developer that includes this video and three others recapping a fan's visit to their studio. They also offer another video which includes footage from American Truck Simulator, taken from an alpha version of the upcoming transport sim. This comes with the following warning: "Don't forget that American Truck Simulator is still very much under development and features and environments may change prior to the official release." Thanks Rock, Paper, Shotgun via Cutter.

Murdering a prostitute will be released later, in the Jeremy Clarkson DLC.

When did CA become just a desert?

Since the drought.

Hey it doesn't rain in the spring/summer/most of fall drought or not. We have 3 months where we have a shot at rain, no matter good or bad.

From a civilian side of it, it seems the same. Boaters, perhaps different. Those in water treatment, perhaps different. But it is called the golden state for a reason. It is only green out here Nov-Mar, but I link sand when I think desert. Could be different defs.

however I remember the devs stating that initially ATS will be limited to California, Arizona and New Mexico.

Well that sucks. I mean, California looks great, but I want more than just the fucking desert to drive in.

I'll wait until they release all of the USA then, which judging by their European map's speed might not be until roughly 2020...

When did CA become just a desert? You have the sierra's, SF, napa, redwoods up north, LA. Now AZ and NM fits the bill like that bit more. Back to Truckin.

Is your wife Dallas Alice? And are you sure you wouldn't rather be eastbound and down? Loaded up and truckin? Doin' what they say can't be done?

I figured if anyone would get my reference, it would be you.

I can't seem to find the blog post stating this; however I remember the devs stating that initially ATS will be limited to California, Arizona and New Mexico. The release map will be as big as ETS's is now. Eventually they will add the rest of the U.S. as free and paid DLC. I think they might do Canada as well.

There was a YouTube interview with the devs, but I'm not sure where I saw it. I think it was linked from an update on the official Steam group. They said it's called American truck sim, not USA truck sim, and they do indeed want to cover other countries. They specifically mentioned, IIRC, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Alaska (yes, I know Alaska isn't a country).

Well I hope it's not just Californy, that would be boring. There's plenty of other places I'd rather drive in the US. And I definitely prefer the flat-faced European style trucks.

SCS's DLC is some of the few paid DLC that I buy without hesitation Going East was great and I'm looking forward to Scandinavia. I'm expecting very good things from ATS. I really like ETS yet I'm not quite sure why.

The inside of the truck is still looks so static.
Keep in mind this is from the ALpha build and it looks like they're using some ETS assets as place holders. I'd expect the finished game to look much more American.

Thanks for the info and agreed. Looking forward to the Scandinavian DLC. And New Mexico is one of my fave places in the US so that's cool enough for now. I wonder if I can drive to Napa and get bombed.
