Hatred Earns AO Rating

Controversial isometric shooter Hatred is being rated AO (Adults Only) in the U.S. reports Polygon, saying they have confirmed this with the ESRB. AO ratings are very unusual, and this case seems even more so, as the rating was apparently prompted by the game's language and violence, while the AO rating is typically triggered by sexual content. "Well, I'm not quite convinced why Hatred got AO rating while it lacks any sexual content, but it's still some kind of achievement to have the second game in history getting AO rating for violence and harsh language only. Even if this violence isn't really that bad and this harsh language isn't overused," writes one of the developers on their registration-required forums. "I would prefer to get a standard M+ rating, because with AO we will have problems to to get to consoles in the future, but on the other hand I think you guys (our fans) would be disappointed with it."

the main goal of GTA isn't murder.

If there was no murder in this game it would be nothing. GTA V, modern urban environment, taking the worst of society, putting it in a game, because they knew it would sell. Pretty much what I suspect if I looked it up in Websters.

A lot of games we play it is about pixel killing (ARPG's) which I related 0% to vs real killing. I have no shame in killing pixels. In life I'm 0-life on killing people, it could be my prime objective, to leave this planet with zero real murders under my belt. Pixel murders could be in the trillions for I'll I care.

You guys are buying into it, you are blurring lines, they are reprogramming you without you noticing.

Many games I play as the supposed good guy, but in the end, end up killing more, without thought then the bad guy ever did. Somewhat in an ironic way that I'm sure how our armed forces in the realz are looked at after awhile by bystanders in whatever country we are in today, working a hidden agenda masked with "Saving the free world".
