This idea is the result of a misguided comparison of an entire industry and all its ancillary revenues (GLOBAL video game sales, hardware (consoles), hardcore / casual, DLC, MMO subscriptions, microtransactions etc. etc.) and a single subset of another industry (North American box office revenue).
