Hotline Miami 2 Dev to Australians: "Just Pirate It"

Via reddit, there's word on Ars Technica confirming a practical, if profit-eating response from the developer of Hotline Miami 2 to the game being refused classification in Australia. "If it ends up being not released in Australia, just pirate it after release," designer Jonatan Söderström wrote in an email reply. "No need to send us any money, just enjoy the game!" Devolver Digital confirmed for Ars this is genuine, and Fictional Devolver CFO Fork Parker tweets a confirmation that this is legit as well. "He’s said similar things in the past," a Devolver Digital PR rep told Ars. "And yes, I can confirm he wants people to enjoy the game."

Simple answer is - I've got zero interest in any of those game scenarios you listed and would not buy and play those, same as 99.9% of gamers i reckon.
What you proposing thou is censorship and that is more dangerous then some sick individual fantasy game that no one wants and no one will buy and play.

YOU have zero interests in the game premises I have imagined and YOU believe that "99.9%" of gamers wouldn't be. We both know that that is an arbitrary number that you have conjured up. Although the actual number may not be known, make no mistake, there will be plenty of people playing these games.

What if you were a Jew, a Muslim, an African-American, a victim of rape, or a mother of a child? If games portraying these crimes were freely allowed on the open market, do you believe they are conducive to a healthy society? Is it acceptable for people to capitalize on games where the player engages in the most disturbing of crimes under the guise of "freedom of expression". At least if they were banned, those other profitting from the sales of said games wouldn't be sanctioned by the law.

I would go so far as to say that the very fabric of society was being eroded by the actions of those who develop and defend this sort of objectionable media.
