I don't get how they keep raking in the cash. Yeah, I put in $25 for Squadron 42 a long long time ago, but I haven't bought one extra thing.

I mean... didn't anyone see Wing Commander? (the movie)

I wonder if there will be a single person that will buy this game when it releases. It seems like every single person on the planet and their dog has already backed it.

I got it free with a video card but they never sent me the key. I guess I have to wait until 2021 for it to be released.

I've just decided to wait until they do a Elite Dangerous type of release. Which is to say, here is a strong backbone of a game, come along for the ride.

BTW SpectralMeat, my TrackIR5 is getting here next week. Some of your previous posts helped me decide I have to have one. Picking up Elite was my tipping point to finally buy.

I should contact TrackIR for my fee than
Glad to hear you are getting one. It really is an excellent thing to have and a lot of games use it nowadays, from shooters to racing.
Next step is Oculus

You will love it. Although the implementation in Elite isnt the greatest TBH it is functional and will improve your SA byleaps and bounds.
I have a nifty blue line!

They gotta fix their flight model, it fucking sucks. I dont care what technology is in the future if you bank left you expect the vehicle to bank left, not do some weird strafe/arc/roll maneuver. Horrible.

I haven't backed yet, and neither have my two dogs. So that's three copies right there.

How is it compared to the Elite flight model? I like the way Elite is jet fighter'ish but with a flick of a button flight assist is off and you're in space. With thrusters, everything just feels right to me.

Oh yeah SC is totally different.
I found it super frustrating and not even comparable to Elite

Yeah but you are not guaranteed to buy it when it comes out.
What if last minute they decide that the game can not be played offline?
Just sayin

The scary thing is that they're up to 180 employees, 4 worldwide offices, licensing, etc. That's gotta have an insane burn rate on that bling. So if the funding levels drop off I'm starting to wonder how they would ever finish this. They say they can scale development up but I'm not sure you can do the same thing in reverse once scope and features are set. I just hope Roberts knows what hes doing.

That being said, the people who did back it seem pretty happy for the most part. I'm mainly curious more than anything else, I hope it turns out well for people. When there is an official "1.0" type milestone for the aggregate product I will probably check it out.

wasted their money, they should of waited and watched a review. Then bought another game, cos it will be just a p2w game and not worth it.

Elites is 'spot on', intuitive instantly and feels right. Is it realistic? Nope, but it FEELS right. SC I have no idea what they're doing, its not challenging its just weird and annoying. The ships sway and blob around like they're 1000 ton whales and like I said basic flight controls make no sense, I want to play it but I CANT.
