GSC Game World Website

The GSC Game World website is back online following news that the Ukrainian developer is back in operation. There is not much there about their future plans, though there's a splash graphic that does refer to their "eagerly anticipated comeback." What they do provide is a retrospective on their past games, and contact information for back-catalogue publishing inquiries and technical support. Thanks Rhialto.

If and when we see a new - real - Stalker, super. If not I'm not holding my breath.

The first Stalker was announced in 2001 and released in 2007. So who knows when, if ever, there will be a Stalker 2 game.

Duh, I've been so in the "Oh, it's more Stalker news from those guys trying to steal money" mode lately, that I didn't even realize that these are the actually legit guys.

I have no idea what's left of them, but a proper open-world Stalker sequel or remake or whatever would be most splendid. Preferably one based on a third-party engine that's been thoroughly debugged.

I wouldn't even object to a cross-platform release so long as they take the PC version seriously. Now is the time (if not slightly past) given that survival games are pretty popular.

4A games (The Metro 2033/Last Light guys) said they were doing an open world version of their titles next, so you may get your wish.

Me for one.

There was a hilarious parody S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 video that I saw a long time ago--terrible graphics, watered down gameplay, and about half way through a flashing message at the top of the screen that says "No Internet Connection--Disconnecting Game" this in response to GSC's interest in online DRM ...

Did anybody else ever see this? Just went looking for it on youtube and all I got was a bunch of bullshit Justin Bieber videos ...

Airel / West games and Wfunder of course! Their whole "we're remaking STALKER even though we don't own it!" was obviously a ploy to get GSC back together to make another real STALKER!
