The Elite: Dangerous forums announce the official release of Elite: Dangerous, as version 1.00 of Frontier Developments' space combat sequel is now available. The game's official website is non-responsive at the moment, but that forum post has some details:
A 30 year legacy, and more than 2 years of development, and we're thrilled to announce that Elite: Dangerous 1.00 is out now, available for download and play.

Change log for those updating from Gamma:

  • Prevent missions softlocks when switching servers from A->B->A without disconnecting from A
  • Check if we should use the neutron star's version of the bolometric luminosity first to prevent soft lock
  • Avoid crash in creating a location object when it hits a rare window
  • Sky box view distance altered to reduce memory usage in highly populated regions

Ok, I sold my palladium for a profit within a few lightyears of where I bought it from.

But still. I feel the universe (FD) is saying "go forth and kill" with my new python. Challenge accepted.

If anyone needs help, and I'm online, I'm happy to assist. Even afterwards. I have no problem murdering someone who killed one of you.

And, goddammit, stop playing solo. Seriously...it's really not that dangerous.

UGH...I really don't want to do that. I'm sorry. I've gotten lazy. I've done about 4 hundred THOUSAND trade runs. Now, I have to go out and find new ones...as the game intends. Then they'll dry up in a night. Then I repeat. So, instead of grinding something constant for FOREVER to get a bigger ship in WEEKS! Now, I have to have that stream interrupted and go find a new path every few days. Which increases my grind rate to a year. Fuck that.

For what? This progression curve is beyond stupid. No one fights anyway.

Way to make the game zero fun...

I think I'm done with this game until I hear feedback from 1.1.

I was neutral through empire until I leveled to Viscount. Then I became friendly...then I became allied. I'm pretty sure something is broken.

So going back to rare trades was a good decision I guess for stable income.
Ones I have the Asp armed I can stop by some of those nav points or USS and get some kills in too to break the boredom

Sounds like they tried to fix the "infinite" economy bug last night. From what I'm reading, they messed up and "supply" amounts are still infinite, while "demand" on every station drained to almost zero. That cascaded and the entire economy crashed.

I think they did a hotfix this morning...people are saying everything is better, but the markets don't last forever. Basically, the trading websites have been rendered obsolete.

So...MINING! Lol... What was it? I think 86 Draconis has pristine metallic reserves. Fly to the inner ring and mine platinum until your brain goes numb.

I did log into the beta but just like Vall ones I've seen I am starting wit ha new character I just logged out.
I can wait until next week when the update will go live.
From what I've seen the planets will look pretty awesome with the city lights and stuff.
Hopefully the market crash last night was just a hiccup on the server end and not how the market will function from now on.

Yes exactly what I was trading.
The only issue is the station that was supposed to have lots of supply of Palladium has none. So I went to the other station to grab the slaves and sell them at the station where I was supposed to buy the Palladium but that station has no demand for the slaves.
According to the website I was supposed to be making ~2,000 - 3,000 profit per ton and I was making like 30k for the 100ton cargo.
Not to mention the station that was supposed to have high supply of Palladium had 30 units. Tried it an hour later and the station was empty.

From where I was previously I've had to travel over 250Ly to here to do this trade run so I was a bit pissy about it.
Thankfully this place was only 40Ly away from one of the stops in the 11 stop rare run so I am in my Asp loading up on rare goodies.
I've managed to slap a C FSD on it and some cargo expanders. I have about 85 tons of cargo space at the moment.
I still have about 1 mill left to buy the goods but I will upgrade the ship as I go.
Insurance costs 250k to replace this thing so I have to keep an eye on my wallet.
I only have the default 2 tiny weapons on that the ship came with so no combat for me yet until I have some cash to buy equipment.
The Asp does sound like a WW2 plane lol

Huh, all the station's goods have been reduced to nothing. This is weird. And supplies went from demand to supply? I am baffled.

Apparently, Frontier "broke" trading. Or, at least, introduced a systemic "fuck you" to all routes. Stations that had surpluses, now are in demand and vice versa. Now their forum is down as well...

And I was only $162 million away from the Anaconda.

Seems they did a hotfix that enables all the stations to have supply based on the player trades. Essentially, every station is now completely fucking empty of stock. gg!

Ah, well, I need to play Dragon Age!

You should be making at the very minimum $900c per ton. Ideally more. I like to do bidirectional routes, so one path pays less than the other, but they still should be both above that mark.

Rare trading is amazing in the Asp. God I wish I could throw $5 million at you for the 'A' frameshift. Either way, you can rack up some serious money by submitting to AI fools interdicting you.
