The Elite: Dangerous forums announce the official release of Elite: Dangerous, as version 1.00 of Frontier Developments' space combat sequel is now available. The game's official website is non-responsive at the moment, but that forum post has some details:
A 30 year legacy, and more than 2 years of development, and we're thrilled to announce that Elite: Dangerous 1.00 is out now, available for download and play.

Change log for those updating from Gamma:

  • Prevent missions softlocks when switching servers from A->B->A without disconnecting from A
  • Check if we should use the neutron star's version of the bolometric luminosity first to prevent soft lock

Son, get an A rated power distributor stat. It's one of the cheaper upgrades and, aside from the frameshift, is probably the most immediately noticeable. Everything recharges MUCH faster, and (I'm pretty sure) it makes your laser weapons stronger.

While you're figuring out your thruster problem, I'd pull the gun on that...

Also, upgrade your sensors and life support to 'D'. It's very cheap and will gain you extra jump range. D class stuff is currently the lightest in the game. Ideally, you should upgrade to D asap. E stuff is shitty and heavy. You can cut your weight by a huge amount with these pretty simple steps. Don't forget that you actually sell your E class stuff...so you cut the cost down a little. Granted, if you're going from an E to an A... it's laughable.

That sounds like a bug. You are no where near max power capacity. Unfortunately, I have no money, so I can't buy an Asp and try and replicate this issue.

Edit:

Just to be devil's advocate...you're not trying to install a class 6 thruster are you? Asp can only go up to 5. I don't mean to sound dickish...I actually had this problem before I realized what was going on.

When I try to upgrade my thrusters the game tells me it exceeds mass. Soo what does that mean? How can I upgrade them?

I'd agree with Mr. Tact. Sounds like your power distribution is all messed up. That's weird though...I don't recall ever having issues with power on an Asp. Surely you aren't equipping six railguns.

Hmmm. Try putting your current build into the ship builder site. It will show you the power usage.

I don't understand why I can not upgrade the thrusters on my Asp. It says exceeds limit or something.

Every time I upgrade my weapons I am dreading the moment I activate them the first time and they trigger the oxygen censor of the ship.
How can I make sure that doesn't happen?
I put so many hours into this game but in a way I still feel like this

By the way do you guys get lines going everywhere on the galaxy map when you select fastest route?
The system I am in looks like a spider with a million legs.

When I first saw how much my ship can actually jump after the patch I was like holy crap!
I always thought that the route has to go through that many systems because of the connection between them or something along those lines. Like there are hub systems you have to go through in order to reach a certain system you can not just make a straight connection between them.
So I did not complain about it but now I see it was obviously a bug.
Oh well I am happy it's fixed

Yeah that's why it didn't make sense my ship had 16-20ly jump range and I was doing like 2-3ly jumps.
That 11 stop rare run took forever!!

Other way around
Select fastest route first than hit plot route.
Just for checking things out I hit economy route than plot again and than back to fastest and hit plot again and the route did not change from one to the other

Wait, are you saying you plotted the route and THEN switched to fastest? You'd have to click on the route planning a second time in that case. I did have that happen to me once or twice...

Yeah it must have been a bug on my end than.
I remember specifically switching between economy and fastest route and the route did not change at all.
I know I have to click plot route again ones I switch between eco and fastest.

Anyways I am very happy that is works now. Those trade runs were a major pain in the ass and made my brain hurt by the end of the night

Very odd. The pre 1.1 the planner would default to economic instead of fastest (or whatever the monikers are) and that I couldn't do routes over 100 lys. But once I switched off economic and the paths plotted, I always got capacity length jumps. Never had an issue with it doing the route as you are indicating.

That's wrong.
