EVE Online Deploys Phoebe

CCP announces the new Phoebe update is now live in EVE Online, their sci-fi MMORPG. In case it isn't obvious from the self-explanatory name, they offer details on what Phoebe brings to the game:
We are happy to announce that the Phoebe release has been successfully deployed to Tranquility!

Phoebe brings a whole host of new changes, including Invention Updates, changes to travel in New Eden, the new Mission Objective Guidance System, the addition of unlimited skill queues, changes to trial account restrictions, multisell!, changes to exploration content and significant changes to the user interface that should allow easier and more efficient piloting of your spaceships!

You can check out an overview of all these features in CCP Seagull's "Coming to EVE Online with the Phoebe Release" dev blog, and find more granular details in the full patch notes.

For general feedback on this release you can post and discuss in this forum thread. To discuss issues, please see this thread. For those of you playing with our Mac client, please report your Mac specific issues in this thread.

I really like the new changes - having bookmarks visible in space really helps with tactical engagements.

Did they ever make the font adjustable without having to change resolution? I could never get past that tiny font at 1920x1080....

Yes. You can change the font size independently of resolution.

BTW, we were playing around with Youtube's 60FPS vids the other day, and wondering if we were really seeing 60FPS or not (among other things). Here's the Eve Prophecy trailer in full 60FPS. Youtube resolution dropdown now says 720P60HD and 1080P60HD, and the vid looks silky smooth too.

It's too bad this isn't for E:D style game where you actually fly the ships. This trailer is actually pretty cool (which says a lot coming from me, I hated the last Eve trailer and am generally opposed to prerendered trailers in general)

I haven't tried an Eve trial in a few years. Did they ever make the font adjustable without having to change resolution? I could never get past that tiny font at 1920x1080....

Edit: It's been over 3 years apparently :)

This is brilliant! I have wanted unlimited skill queuing since I first played EVE Online in 2004. At last!

This is a completely different game to the one I started playing in 2008.
With the new development cycle, pushing updates out every 6 weeks or so, things are moving quite quickly. It's great to see that they can push out small patches like these which do enhance the game greatly.

I must admit though, the new UI changes with all of your bookmarks showing up on screen can be overwhelming. It does offer more visually when you need to align to something though. Seeing where a bookmark is and being able to select it is quite brilliant.

Will be interesting to see how the changes to jump range actually affect things though. There was a lot of cyno activity yesterday, which I assume was people moving their ships back home again.

Good changes in terms of nerfing hot drops, and improved skill queuing will be useful especially for newer characters that have a lot of short-duration skills to train.I don't think I'll be getting back into EVE though. Last time I played I just wasn't having as much fun as I used to. Plus I'm still a bit miffed at CCP for dropping World of Darkness.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
