Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Recommended Specs

The Steam page for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare now offers recommended system requirements, following the release of minimum specs for the military shooter sequel earlier this week (thanks DSOGaming). Also, a new trailer from the other day (thanks GameSpot) shows off multiplayer action from the game along with some infomercial-style endorsements, saying: "Watch some popular community members share their thoughts on the all-new movement system, customization options, as well as describe their most epic moments with the game." Here are the recommended specs:

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.30GHz

They mentioned dedicated servers in an interview but I'm pretty sure they're instanced and not the kind where you pick from your browser.

They don't want to give up control over what maps are played in rotation it seems, I remember them using "nuketown" 24/7 as a special event they would set.

Does the game have dedicated servers that can be privately run (and monitored)? This is the kind of game that is mostly cheater proof, sure a cheater will pop up every once in a while but a on a quality server an admin will kick and ban him in no time at all. Unfortunately since this is call of duty, lemme guess. Lobby Matchmaking??? Pass....

I agree with Battlefield, I can barely stomach it anymore. It all went downhill after EA bought Dice. To sum it up, horrible netcode and game design. While netcode being more important, they have way too many vehicles in too small of a space. Two quick examples: Dawn Breaker and Lancing Dam. With both sides having Jets, Attack Choppers, Littlebirds, Gunships, Tanks, APC's, Mobile AA, Commanders, etc... it's just a cluster F^%k.

I guess I really blame the console popularity of COD for this. EA saw the Activision cash cow and figured they could do the same with the battlefield series, so they bought DICE and started pumping out trash. Pretty looking trash I suppose.

It makes me wonder if the ForstBite engine could handle maps 4-5 times larger than the biggest BF2 maps. Not ARMA sized maps, but something scaled way better. Surely sacrifices were made to get the game running on super old PS3/Xbox 360 hardware.

I only ever received one trophy. it was a kid bicycle race that was sponsored by somebody. There was only four of us in the entire race including my brother. I think I was in the third grade and I was getting smoked by everybody in front of me including a little girl riding her pink bicycle with a basket.she fell off the bicycle and like an idiot I stopped to help her. she took off and left me standing there holding my bike, I became lost and eventually my parents had to drive in our car around the block to see where I'd gone. it was an honorary trophy actually, it said something to the effect of "your child is an idiot and came in last because he didn't know where the bicycle race was being held". so my street cred it's basically just that. I had a very sad sad childhood.

I agree the mechanics look quite Quake-like, but the envs and weapons are still CoD. It's an interesting hybrid.

For me though, no bots <> no sale. Not really my thing to play 32 player matches with strangers.

I played around 30-40 hours of a multiplayer build for Advanced Warfare, and while i could only play certain modes specific to each map all modes should work for each map in the final. it's pretty fun actually, but i got tired of the 4 map/mode combo's that i played, and the new guns in supply drops didn't seem to enhance things. this title might actually be a killer app to sell more Xbones. i wonder which button they're gonna bind on PC by default for the exo suit boost abilities. it's prolly gonna be a crappy port to PC as always tho.

nah... plays just like your typical CoD, but now with boost. playing a Quake-like CoD would actually be better. (imo) but Activision knows the CoD kiddies aren't smart enough for that stuff.

all that and dedicated servers, well you can't choose your server I suppose but at least your not doing some crappy pvp match making.

This game is looking really good, haters be danged! Over the years the quintessential competitive FPS has gone from Doom 2, Quake 2, CS 1.6, CoD:MW, and Cod:MW3. CoD:AW looks to be the next in line.

I don't care what the haters say. MW3 and AW, both by Sledgehammer, are expertly crafted, high quality shooters. I just can't hate on any game that is expertly crafted and delivers exactly what it promises.

So anyway, my Doom/Quake tournament wins and real-life trophies give me the "street cred" to say CoD:AW is looking real legit. So stop hating on such a well-made FPS.

Holy shit, an FOV option? Did Bobby approve this? DID BOBBY APPROVE THIS??!!!

The FOV slider is only available in the single player portion of the game, in MP that would be cheating!

Not gonna lie, the gameplay footage looks a lot more fun than typical Colladoody snail duels.

Watching the video, I'd have to agree. Quake then UT both had this type of gameplay over 15 years ago. Looking at some of the people they interviewed though, I'd be surprised if they even knew of those games.
As much as I love fast paced, FPS deathmatch, there's nothing there that really excited me at all.

You just gotta accept that, there'll always be cheaters, griefers and idiots. Wherever you go, even Farmville has them

I am not claiming it doesn't bother me, but I just want a FPS where I can have *fun* and the more I play Battlefield the less fun I have with it. Tanks were cool and all but the battles are always the exact same...
