Blue: Why do I almost always have to look on other websites for news about Lords of the Fallen? There was another gameplay vid released a few days back.

I like what I see except the level design is lacking something special which is very important to me. The game looks fun but if the levels are all so similar I doubt I will finish the game. Still on the fence but almost ready to jump off in favor of purchasing. My main concern is all the great games coming out between now and the Witcher 3.
You've got Shadows of Mordor, Lords of the Fallen, Dragon Age Inquisition, Bloodborne, and the Witcher 3... all demanding my attention to some degree or another in the next six month. Yet I still need to finish Dark Souls 2 and the DLC, a complete run thru of Wasteland 2 though playing it hardcore is a blast, DoS, plus several Kickstarter betas and releases due soon. I'm not complaining. I love games. Just going to be hard to fit them all into my real life schedule.

Combats not quite as good as the recent Xcom, and overall I think Fallout Tactics is still a better game.

A stupid 10 skill bar would do amazing wonders of making combat a lot more varied. Even though I'd ask for even more. That is one the ESO has going in the right direction, a skill bar, even though abbreviated.

My 2 cents: Fallout 3 got the gameplay right, but Bethesda simply can't write dialog or create memorable characters to save their lives. New Vegas retained the gameplay and amped up the writing massively (which includes creates a gamespace with actually interesting social dynamics) and was a much better game for it overall. NV might just be my favorite Fallout, actually.

Considering how good Fallout 3 was I don't really mind the switch anyway.
"Good" being subjective. I could list several things that aren't that great, but this list covers it.
But I guess for me I just could not get over how it just looked like an Oblivion (Gamebryo engine) Fallout mod.

Think of other things they could do a lot better... As good as they are and they are, they could be godly if they'd up their game some in a couple critical area's.
1. UI
2. A lot more skills available quickly. The magic system you could only do a few things. Melee way to basic, sure have basic swing but there should be melee skills to.
Indeed. The lack of a proper PC UI - given how much goddamned money they've made from PC players - should be considered criminal.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas felt like Elder Scrolls games and I am entirely happy about this.

Remember folks, Fallout HAD to be turned into a first person shooter, because clearly turn based RPG's are dead.
Seeing as how they practically tripled the sales from FO1&2 combined with FO3, it's kind of hard to argue they made the wrong decision...

Damnned game crashes regularly for me, with the screen freezing yet the game continues to run until I Alt + Tab back to Windows at which point it bombs out. I'll stick with it, though, because I'm enjoying W2 in spite of the Unity engine
