Humanity has begun its first tentative steps beyond its home solar system. However, the journey has not been entirely peaceful...
From the creators of MechWarrior Online comes Transverse, a galactic flight-based MMORPG set in a persistent, distant sector of the galaxy where industry, science and combat shape humanity's interstellar progression.
When the division between humans on Earth and the trans-humans of the outer colonies threatened to develop into a system-wide war, the development of an interstellar jump drive offered an alternative and the trans-humans in the outer colonies were given the drive and a choice: integrate or emigrate.
They chose isolation.
Now immortal through the ability to transfer their consciousness into different host bodies, the trans-humans have multiple hosts that can be modified and improved to advance a pilot's skill. The future path humanity takes among the stars is in your hands.
With incredibly detailed ship and station construction, massive solar-system-wide player events and real-time, physics-based combat, Transverse puts the power in the pilot's hands. A fluctuating, real-time economy fueled by industry drives trade in a dynamic resource ecosystem, and player-generated contracts and missions can shift the balance of power at any given moment. Your reputation as a pilot throughout the galaxy will be judged by how well you fly, and the decisions you make.
Transverse is now available for pre-order via a variety of tiers starting at $30 USD.

I gave up on MW:O when I figured out that Clan Wars was goddamn lie. There is no cake.
Now these clowns are trying to poach CR's suckers... Jesus Christ, why not, I dont know, hmmm let me think, crowdsource a Mechwarior single player campaign!!!???
The thing is that they are more than halfway there already. They have engine, the art assets, the physics modeling, weapons modeling, maps and terrain, mechs, mech bay customization UI, etc. etc. all designed and tested. All they need is a story, some voice work, mods to the engine to handle single player gameplay and scripting, etc. I'm sure if they crowdfunded it they'd get a couple mil at least. Use some MWO cash to fund the rest and sell the end product on Steam.
But that could end up actually being a game instead of just a cash-grab. We can't have that.

Unfortunately nobody can really make a game that feels as good as MW2, because it used an excellent engine with flight sim physics which were military grade. Because the dude who wrote that engine used to make military grade simulators.
Erm...I agree that MW2 was probably the best Mechwarrior game ever, but it was hardly due to the engine and graphics. Sure these were quite good for their time, but what was most memorable about the game was its fantastic storyline and the rich lore of the Clans which was presented in a stunning fashion. Lets not forget the awesome musical score which IMO was never surpassed in any game since. (I76 came close, another INhouse Activision game, back when they used MAKE games :))

most likely I'll be too busy playing Star Citizen to notice.

Oh boy. Piranha Games Inc have pumped MWO and they will be dumping it soon without delivering on the promis
As much as I wish it weren't true, I have to agree with you on this. My very first thought on reading this announcement was exactly that. I never paid anything into MWO (thankfully) but I did play it a while and followed the community. I had considered paying in but after seeing things like the Clans...it was pretty clear what they were doing.
RaZ0r! wrote on Sep 9, 2014, 19:28:Did you get one? I heard lots of people asked and got them.
I very politely asked for a refund on MWO. I didn't expect I would receive one, but I actually got scolded for asking. That was amazing.
So yeah good luck with this one.
