Battle.net announces a
50% boost to gold find is now underway in Diablo III as they continue to
prepare to release the "almost here" version 2.10 update for the action/RPG
sequel:
Our first major content update for Reaper of Souls is almost here! In preparation for patch 2.1.0 and the new content it brings—including Seasons, Greater Rifts, and the mysterious Vault—all players who log into Diablo III this weekend will receive a +50% bonus to Gold Find.
This bonus Gold Find period begins in the Americas region tomorrow, August 22, at 12:00 a.m. PDT and ends on Tuesday, August 26, at 3:00 a.m. PDT (when maintenance begins). Please note that this buff will stack multiplicatively with existing bonuses including those provided from items and Paragon points.

Blizzard committed corporate suicide with Diablo 3 , even more so with every new patch. Too bad they had to have Diablo having to have coitus with WOW this whole time, what a sham that they can't separate into its own proper franchise, now WOW is dying too, why can't they just let go.... let it go Blizzard, be a man!

I had the same experience about 10+ years ago, and have never been back. They literally had a waist high pile, and when I asked, they sniggered at each other and looked at me. I went to Best Buy down the street (back when BB actually stocked things) and grabbed it.
On D3, I was totally going to wait for $20, but watched some folks play the other night and took the plunge. Mine should be here tonight. So get yer copy!
Bind on Account, and the lack of any meaningful PvP or social interaction killed the game for me. Despite all the nice progress theyve made with itemization, crafting etc.

I'm the same way. Want to play, but with so many other games can't justify spending that much time in a game I can't trade/get the items I want with any type of reasonable rate/certainty. I'd prob play on double xp weekends to help my para or finish off those leveling second of each class achivements though.

I see nothing wrong with them encouraging ladder participation... But I agree, a gold find weekend is pretty lame. I guarantee they won't see nearly the influx of players they do with XP or drop rate buff events.
Yeah, the patch 2.1 notes have pretty much killed any desire I have to go back to D3. Exclusive Season only content, some of the BEST changes on CONSOLE ONLY, better drops in rifts only, instead of across the board in Adventure Mode (the better gameplay experience, in my and other peoples' opinion), etc.
I could probably tolerate the crappy Season only legendaries not being released to "normal" players for months, if they didn't also release some pretty damned good console only changes at the same time. On the plus side, the D3 console developers seem to really be on the ball, so good for console players.

50% bonus to earning gold for your characters that... er... um... you cant play in the new ladder season because we are making everyone start over from scratch. Sure, keep the gold on the normal servers, but if you are hyped about the 2.1 patch, it wont do you any good! Woot!!!
