Community Suggested Changes for Battlefield Hardline

The Battlefield Blog outlines 10 specific changes coming to Battlefield Hardline based on feedback from the recent beta testing of the upcoming shooter sequel. They continue to solicit feedback, and say: "We are doing our best to create an awesome MP experience, and in coming days we are revealing a ton of new multiplayer details including information on maps, modes, guns, gadgets and our single player campaign." Saying they "have a lot of other awesome changes underway and will be sharing more soon," as they share the following plans:

  1. REDUCING FREQUENCY OF EXPLOSIVES
We have heard your complaints about breaking the cops and robbers experience with the amount of heavy explosive weaponry available – but we didn’t want to sacrifice fun! We’ve made changes to reduce the frequency of explosive use to focus on the core gameplay, and we’ve made the use of explosives much more believable now.
  2. REBALANCING AND RENAMING THE MECHANIC CLASS
We’ve made the class better in more situations – without sacrificing his ability to take down a vehicle. We’re also looking at renaming it – post your favourite suggestions in the comments!
  3. REVISITING THE IN-GAME HUD
We’re working on establishing a clearer visual difference from BF4 and improving the messaging of the in-game HUD, from objectives to player status information.
  4. REVISITING THE CUSTOMIZE SCREEN
We’ve taken a new pass at how the customize screen is laid out, and are making it clearer and easier to manage your gear and weapon attachments. This should address the majority of issues reported.
  5. MAKING THE WORLD DEEPER AND MORE INTERACTIVE
We’ve been working on adding more touches to the game world, giving players more options and things to do that impact play. Look for interactive objects like doors, radios, ammo lockers, and more!
  6. MAKING ROUNDS LAST LONGER
A significant amount of feedback during the Beta was received regarding the quick progression of rounds. We’ve made tweaks to both Heist and Blood Money that should help make the experiences last longer without sacrificing any of the fun.
  7. INCREASING TRANSPORT VEHICLE HEALTH
There were a lot of comments about cars dying too easily from gunfire. We agree that one magazine from the AKM should probably not turn your sedan into a 4-person death trap quite so easily. We’ve also increased the survivability of the utility van.
  8. IMPROVING AUDIO SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
In some of our game modes, situational awareness is very important. We’re working on improving the audio cues in the environment to help you detect and locate your enemies before they do the same to you.
  9. MEDKITS AND AMMO BOXES SHOULD NO LONGER BLOCK L.O.S. CHECKS FOR REVIVE
Previously, you could fail to revive someone if a medkit or ammo bag was blocking the line of sight check for the revive mechanic. We are fixing this so that these no longer block you from reviving.
  10. IMPROVING INTERROGATION
We’ve worked out some changes to the T62 CEW and the Interrogation mechanic. We’re working on making Interrogation only show enemies in a radius around the captured enemy, but show the marked enemies as if they had been Active Spotted by a teammate – making it both more useful and less powerful at the same time.

They're still completely ignoring the growing sentiment that Heist mode is devoid of any actual heist mechanics and is Capture the Flag with a different name.

I think it's funny they want us to buy a mod for BF4 for 90€ (game+premium ,p)... and Dragon Teeth again shows, these outsourced DLC's suck ass. If they want my money they should try offering something that is decent to begin with. And not 4 maps and 5 weapons, the fuck kind of lame DLC is that please?

Anyway... glad not-owner of premium for BF4, already saved 20€ by not caring for this DLC and it seems servers don't run it in large numbers either.

And yeah, Hardline? Pass.

Glad you've made an opinion on Dragon's Teeth without playing it. Just for the record, its the best thing to happen to BF4, if BF4 had launched with maps like this BF4 would have been incredible.

I'm a pretty avid battlefield fan but Pearl Market is one of the worst copy and paste asset jobs for an excuse of a map that's ever graced a battlefield game. It's like some amateur got hold of the map editor and it was his first time making a map ever.

I'm all for being able to get inside buildings and having vertical gameplay but you should never have an inside space with any sense of real world scale, narrow hallways where only one person can fit through is an inexcusable design flaw.

And again the maps are designed around 32 player and absolutely no consideration is made for 64 player.

As for Hardline, I can appreciate that they're taking in the feedback but I'm not convinced that they should bend to every whiny player that played the beta for five minutes and then spewed garbage onto the forums. Some people can't wrap their head around the fact that it's suppose to be over the top arcade shooter and not super serious stealth tactical rainbow six.

The new Rainbow 6 game doesn't make much sense either, but it does look fun. For the record, not interested at all in Hardline.

Their DLC is outsourced? Didn't know that.

Dragon Teeth maps look far less impressive visually, from what I've seen but I haven't played them.

Shanghai, for me, is the best Battlefield map in years

"outsourced" meaning DICE LA. They've done ALL the BF4 DLC except China Rising. They are also doing the CTE.

As far as balance, the maps are great on conquest (the only mode that matters in BF).

This is the first release DLC for BF4 that has been outsourced. Maps may not LOOK good, but they flow decently well. Some are ungodly unbalanced though.

Well, to be fair, the maps themselves are well laid out. Some very strange issues with them so far (collision issues, other weird things). However, I played some rounds of Rush and Chainlink on them, and sometimes the balance is.... well complete shit to say the least.

1. TRY HARDER TO MAKE IT NOT LOOK LIKE THE MOD IT CLEARLY IS.
2. KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE WHEN ASKING £60($99 USD) FOR A MOD.
3. HOPE THERE ARE ENOUGH SUCKERS OUT THERE.

I rarely buy EA products anymore, the competition is just that much better and I don't feel like my wallet has been frisked every time I play a game.

The kids wanted this game and I refused to buy it.

REVISITING THE IN-GAME HUD
"We’re working on establishing a clearer visual difference from BF4"

At least they are hearing all the comments about this just being a reskinned/modded version of BF4 lol

Hopefully it tanks.
