Rebellion "Could" Return to AvP Series

There's a quote from a yet-to-be-published interview on DSOGaming with word from Rebellion on the possibility they could someday return to the Aliens vs. Predator series. "Here at Rebellion we’ve got a particularly strong attachment to the AvP universe, so it could happen," Head of Programming Kevin Floyer-Lea tells them. "We had a lot of fun playing with people’s minds on the original game by randomising spawn positions so what was a health pack turned out to be an Alien on your next play through. So personally I’d love to see an AvP game with fully procedurally generated levels, where you literally never know what’s around the next corner."

Can't another developer do the next AvP game instead, Gearbox or Crytek perhaps? Highfive

Can't tell if serious or not...

Jesus. I wouldn't want Gearbox to go anywhere near AvP...and seeing as Crytek can't even pay their people...

Loved the original game; didn't care for the recent one. I'd rather another developer be given a shot at the franchise.

Weren't Rebellion forced to rush that most recent AvP game of theirs?

I know it wasn't well received, but I quite liked it. I enjoyed playing as the Predator and the Marine, at any rate.

Long story short, I have played far worse games, and, to be honest, I would welcome another AvP title from them.

AvP 1 ruled. I also liked the second one, though Im not sure that one was done by Rebellion. The last one was shit, but IMO suffered mostly because of console concessions. A proper AvP game, NEEDS to be a PC exclusive.

That's freaking awesome - I loved the original AvP. Thanks for the link! Checking this out.

AVP in coop was the best and the only coop I ever actually adored to pieces.... it was so scary ;p

The original was the best. I'm so attached to it I rebuilt the entire game following the Steam re-release. But their return to the franchise in recent years was a joke. The Rebellion of today is not the same Rebellion of 1999. For now please stay away from AvP. Maybe in a few years when the license is no longer in Sega's hands and they get serious about making good games again.

Looooved the first one on pc (never played the Jaguar game, because, uh, never seen a Jaguar in real life) but since it has not been a strong series at all. It's also pretty much the only game of theirs that has been noteworthy for me in 15 years, so that's not really a high recommendation

The jag version was almost the equivalent of a doom mod. It was fun, but totally sprite based. And if you bought any of the old gamer mags with maps, back in the day like I did, you could literally beat it in 10-20 minutes with minimal fighting.

Their (first) AvP on the pc was their shining moment with the series...
