Out of the Blue

My Monday night routine is co-op gaming with a few mutant friends. Over the past couple of years we have taken down Diablo and Handsome Jack together, among other victories, but aside from a couple of Team Fortress 2 matches, nothing that really put our teamwork to the test. The last couple of weeks we have been playing PAYDAY 2, which is placing far more emphasis on our collaborative skills. This has also demonstrated these skills need some work, but we've been having a lot of fun, even if we are a little bumbling for now.

I wonder if those Brazilian players are safe. Violence against soccer players has been known to happen in Brazil. 7-1 is just humiliating in a world cup semi-final game.

It's not just humiliating, it is setting several new records This one went down into history.. and I have seen it it live (on tv ,p)... even as a German cheering at the first goal I was baffled and bewildered at the 2nd to 7th.. I can't even put it in words.. never seen such a game before, and I have seen a lot of games.

I mean, I didn't even get to cheer properly for the 2nd goal, because by the time I realized we might be winning we already had 3 more... what an insane game...

And I got to hand it to the US team, they had a good tactic against Germany, they only lacked some high skilled strikers and they would maybe, maybe have gotten to a penalty shoot-out.

Of all the teams in this WM, only Algeria managed to really fight us to the end so far. And personally I hope final is going to be Germany vs NL But that's just because it'd be another history duel.

Don't forget.. no game is ever the same. The final is not going to end 7 to 0 for Germany But at least we saw one of the craziest games in history of football WM.

7-1 against Brazil??? Guess the US wasn't as bad as people here made out.

yeah i tried to keep telling people what a machine germany were and what would happen if we got into a shootout with them, but people just kept insisting we were just the terrible team they all thought. we weren't nearly as good as them, but also not as bad as the possessions stats suggest. it was just down to tactics.

Is this score a validation of Klinsmann's stategy for the US vs. Germany match?

i feel so. our best chance of winning was to defend all day and try to steal a goal at the end which we almost did. to try to play with them would've resulted in a similar blowout.

In the next IHOP movie they should show Superman picking up that boys statue and throwing it through a 7-11. Then he chases the sculptor into a nearby Sears, slaps the Nokia Lumia cell phone from his hand as he tries to call 911, A camera shot of course showing how the Nokia Lumia easily withstands impacting the pavement, leaving not so much as a scratch on the screen. Superman then corners the artist, enraged he screams at him for infringing on DC's copyright.
Then he breaks his neck.

Well I'm definitely not going to search them out. That would make me a horrible person.

Earlier in the tournament I was thinking that if Brazil went out then, combined with the protests, there could be some violence. I doubt that will happen now, their football fans will be more numb than angry. Neymar, Brazil's golden boy who missed tonight's debacle through injury, could probably run for presidency at this point - they'll be desperate for a hero.

I thought Germany would narrowly beat Brazil and I predict that Argentina will beat the Netherlands tomorrow. Germany and the Netherlands will win their final games against Argentina (the final) and Brazil (3rd place play-off) respectively.

Payday 2 was actually the only game I bought during the summer sales and I have to say i'm liking it quite a bit! I got on a few games where we had ALL just bought it and were like level 5. NEEDLESS to say we were blowing stealth missions, killing hostages on accident, killing pedestrians on accident, shooting each other on accident It was basically pandemonium and a HELL of alot of fun!

The video of Koko the gorilla crying over the death of her kitten is probably the saddest video I've seen online. I always wonder how staged these things are but the documentary about Koko that's on Youtube is well worth 80 minutes.

It should come as no surprise to readers here that modern science is determining that animals have consciousness just like humans do. In the same way that we wouldn't abuse a small child or mentally challenged person, nor should we be treating animals poorly. Change happens slowly, but it IS happening as the truths of the older generation (animals as property and automatons) are replaced by the truths of the younger generation (animals as feeling, conscious beings).

I couldn't even read it after a bit, I believe I have more compassion for animals than humans, seeing neighbours dog while injured ruins my entire day

Queen's Tragic Rhapsody.

Great article. It's long, and I only got part way through, so I'll have to finish it later. Queen is absolutely one of the greatest, unique, and influential bands ever, and it's interesting to see the forces at play on these men and how in informed their music. Very cool.

I picked this up awhile back, but haven't got around to watching it. Afraid the ending will be so sad...
