I have the same stick, and you actually have a choice. You can twist the stick, but there's also a rudder control on the throttle you control with your middle and ring fingers. It's a decent stick for the price.

Yeah that's usually the way most joystick threads ends up.
You guys should get a kick out of some of those threads on the Elite forums when guys start talking about lubing and farting noises.

If any of you guys are thinking of ordering that HOTAS nin linked from amazon, do not buy it yet as that price is not the amazon price.
The normal price is $40 or $35 something along those lines.
The price that shows on amazon is a different seller not amazon.

One other thing I did not mention to nin is that with that Thrustmaster HOTAS you will not have enough buttons to control everything in Elite. There are just a shit ton of stuff to control from weapon systems to power distribution, targeting, landing gears, cargo scoops etc etc.

Yeah, I thought it wouldn't bother me as you can remap the mini-joystick axes to function as a rudder, but the twist stick I had on my ancient Sidewinder was just too convenient.

Other than that, I like it. It's not quite supported in a lot of games, though. At least not without opening the CH drivers and reconfiguring things there which can be tedious.

Neither did I. I was totally going to splurge on the x52, but at half the price, this one looks like it. All this stuff makes me want to drop the bread on an Oculus DK2. must RESIST!
