Grand Theft Auto V for PC This Fall

Rockstar Games finally announces that Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PCs, saying a Windows edition of the open world action sequel is coming this fall along with versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC edition will include a new video editor designed for advanced movie-making, all the new content added since the game's release, and the ability for players to transfer their current progress to one of the new platforms. They plan to open preorders today, and in the meantime offer this trailer showing off Los Santos in its next-generation glory, and the following explanation of what to expect:
Today we're proud to announce that the critically-acclaimed and record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V is coming this fall to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.

Switch between the interconnected lives of Michael, Trevor and Franklin as they embark on a series of heists across Los Santos and Blaine County in the biggest, deepest and richest open world experience yet, with game world enhancements that include new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, and an array of new details to discover.

The new generation upgrades also extend to Grand Theft Auto Online, an ever-evolving Grand Theft Auto universe. Rise through the criminal ranks by banding together to complete Jobs for cash, purchase properties, vehicles and character upgrades, compete in traditional competitive modes, or create your own content to play and share with the Grand Theft Auto community.

All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC will also feature a video editor designed for advanced movie-making.

Check out the new video that debuted tonight during Sony's E3 press conference above, and look for pre-order links beginning tomorrow Tuesday June 10th at rockstargames.com/V/order.

Yeah, with the exception of that last triathlon, I'm looking forward to 100% it again. Just like last time, I'm going to take my time. I think 100% took me about 6 months, or just going after a few things a night, and then going off and causing chaos for a bit.

This last month feels like the wait has been forever.

Fired up the xbox360 version and lost like 4 hours on MP the other day....damn forgot how much fun it is.

Was going to try for 100% on the xbox, I am at 87% right now. Looks like it will take me a while still...

Longest part for me was the briefcases, the stunt jumps, and flying under the bridges. Get a guide for those.

And of course, the last triathlon, where you hammer the shit out of the X button several times a second for 20+ minutes straight. Holy shit, that killed my arm, and I'm so dreading doing that again for the new releases.

Yes, or more specifically it should be released at the same price as the original release. Movie studios are fleecing people for something that costs them very little to produce.

Aren't they the same price as the original release? Freak

I jumped on a lot, the problem being no one wanted to do the missions I wanted to, and I would get stuck in a rolling repeat of missions that I thought were boring.

They do go in sort of a progression, but a lot of times they were team vs team, and I have no interest in that - I like doing the story type missions with friends. The problem with that - some people just run off and try to solo it. You really need a group of people you trust to do damn near anything in this game.

I was able to connect with some BN people here and there, but my son was born around the time the MP stuff went live, so my time was limited - soon after, people quit playing.

Console MP just isn't as easy to get going as PC. I assume our numbers will jump again when PC hits.

Just broke lvl 200 last week and still having a blast. Got my second garage and filled it up. I searched for and found a large mature crew to roll with so even running private lobbies we can fill'em up. Last week I even ran an event where a bunch of us got together dressed up as bikers and rolled LS on choppers, was a blast. Even though R* has their heads up their asses on a lot of things, it's GTA, online, with up to 16 of your friends, pure video game awesomeness.

Yeah I'm going to give it another go when it hits the PC.

They are releasing it a year after launch with some graphical enhancements for FULL price. Sorry, but there's no justification for this thing costing $60.

So when they re-release movies in a superior format, it should be half of the normal price for a movie?

When an auto manufacturer releases next year's version of the same model of a car which is exactly the same as last year, just with some minor cosmetic changes, they should charge half the price?

This is more than just an add-on to an existing game. It's a whole game. Why the fuck should it cost less just because it's made for a different platform? That's retard logic right there. Sorry, but there's no justification for your fucking shitty arguments being so mind-numbingly ludicrous. :\

Or you could find a crew to actually play with

I've not seen a single BN crew member in GTA online in 5 months.

To be honest, that's kind of how it goes with every Blues guild/crew in every game.

I'll play online again once it hits the PC, I just got bored with the ever-increasing hax and bullshit I had to deal with when playing online, to the point where I finally only just played in a private session. At which point I was basically playing SP without the story, so what's the point?

Yeah, I played crew only and never saw anyone...

People here are always so quick to rag on excessive DLC , exclusive preorder bonuses and other questionable practices. But apparently have no problem supporting Rock stars double dipping.

I'll bite on this, I'm buying the game twice. I normally don't do this sort of thing but I'll explain why in this case. I bought it initially on the PS3 and really enjoyed the game. The problems I had are the load times and the controller. I actually ended up selling the game for $40 because they really hurt my enjoyment of the game. Multiplayer is a fucking mess on the PS3 compared to the PC and PS4, it doesn't support streaming or video sharing, the controller on the PS3 sucks and so on.

I feel like the PC or PS4 is the version that I should have waited for. I basically spent $20 for my old copy and I don't mind waiting til this is $40 so its all evens out. I typically don't do this sort of thing but GTA V is really awesome game and I love playing it, I just didn't enjoy it on last gen consoles because of their deficiencies. Just the load times alone can ruin it, took me like 5+ minutes anytime I just wanted to load up the MP from boot to playable.

Fuck. Yes. I'll be building a new machine by the time this is released (no doubt before black friday) and am looking forward to finally playing through this on maxxed 1440 PC goodness.

Smart move for Rockstar financially with how they are releasing this a year apart, as well. With how much this game cost to develop, releasing on older platforms that it was originally focused on first and then updating it for pc/newer platforms really maximizes their return on this one, and I believe without a doubt that it is a worthwhile purchase after playing the PS3 version with a friend last year.

If you have absolutely no problem paying $150 for beta access to a barely finished game on PC, but rag on this for being the same price as the original release a year earlier, you need to *seriously* step back and take things into perspective.

Way to change those goalposts. Double dipping is releasing on the same platform, not releasing on different ones. So they are not 'double dipping' like you claimed. Double dipping would have been putting out a Game of the Year edition without any DLC for full price a year after. This is just for new platforms that didn't already see an existing release. Companies do this all the time, from indies to large AAA publishers.

Enjoying the hell out of WD atm. Those player invasions are so unbelievably awesome I could write books about it! I got invaded by a tailer, so I ran up a bridge and shot at te pedestrians feet. They all started running like mad.
Except for one, who got the clue a second later.
I sniped a hole in his head.

Awesome!

As for GTA 5... I can't wait! I saw some footage on my sister's PS3 and it's definitely better that WD in many ways. Just not in all ways.

What a stupid comment.

Ppl buy it first because they don't want to wait a year. People buy it again because they can finally play it on their favorite platform. It doesnt take that much effort to understand.

People here are always so quick to rag on excessive DLC , exclusive preorder bonuses and other questionable practices. But apparently have no problem supporting Rock stars double dipping.

WTF you on about, I've never played that, I loathe consoles so I was waiting for GTA v to be launched on PC, what's your point exactly?
