Anyone playing yet? It is everywhere.....
Hrm...apparently YOU are. Let us know how it is
First impressions: I will avoid spoilers - just what I have noticed so far.
At first hacking was annoying - gets better.
Controls are....sloppy...not as tight as GTA or SR, almost like there is a very slight lag.
Using kb/m and also controller, takes some tweaking, almost feels like it is mouse acceleration but it isn't - just odd.
Haven't even played a campaign mission yet, spending all my time on side stuff, lots to do.
I said the map isn't that big, I haven't left the first "area" and have a ton to do and messing around with.
Some of the digitizing stuff is annoying.
Although walking is 3rd person, you can have multiple driving angles. FOV is a little off.
Didn't take long to find duplicate people and duplicate conversations in the game.
Cop chases are done better than GTA, they "search" for you and there isn't always a defined "get away" area.
Ran off a 2 story building and died.
Cars are terrible as expected.
Motorcycle is wayyyy to touchy, as others had stated from watching videos.
Progressions of skill trees is done pretty well.
Side games also have skill trees - I am spending a LOT of time in side games - also has leaderboards, looks like it will include friends, so we have to have uPlay friends lists now? sux.
That is after an hour or so of play.
Is it GTA or SR? No. Is it everything we thought it would be? Undecided. It is a very nice product, and I suggest getting it, especially at the GMG price. Is it worth full price @ $59.99? eh, if you have nothing else to play I guess it is. I am glad I did the GMG route.
Retail stores are breaking the date all over the place.
oh, PC stuff:
Lots of detail and options for maxing out your PC settings. I had them all maxed, and noticed some audio to mouth movement lag, so I backed a few things off and FPS went up big time. It looks pretty damn good, with most settings maxed, AA backed off to 2x. No tearing that I have noticed and minimal pop in. I have not crashed because of pop in, the view distance is an adjustable item, and I have it maxed.
oh, I know this is a killer for some, while driving, you can adjust where the angle of the camera is, and it stays for a while, it isn't like (GTA4?) where you have to HOLD it there while you drive. So it isn't super annoying, but not the best.....there is a very cool in car driving mode that shows your arm and blurred hud.
Gun fights are a challenge early on. I have died 3 times. 1x by cops, 2x by falling off of buildings.
