If there are no games you want to play on the system any price is too expensive.

all the Kinectless Xbox One discussion is in the other comments thread. it's a better deal now in Canada if it's really only going to be $399 here.

now that Kinect will be sold separately it should be easier obtain and connect to a PC now. I've heard from schools and devs that the new Kinect 2.0 is a lot better than the old one for their projects. should be great to have the new Kinect in combination with an Oculus Rift.

I thought they made it so you couldn't plug in a Kinect 2.0 for xbox one into a PC. Is there a hack that makes this work?

It's a proprietary plug but someone might've figured the pinout. There is a Kinect 2.0 for Windows but I'm not sure if/when that made it out yet.

So much for "next-gen".

Those pieces of crap are so underpowered its not even funny. -_-

"Next-gen" is just a marketing term now. We're a long way off of the next generation of computer graphics. Watch Dogs doesn't look much better than a game from 5 years ago on the consoles.

Keeping my fingers firmly crossed it looks better on the PC.

Years ago, Microsoft had a bold vision for the future of computing. It would be a tapestry composed of tiny squares. Each square would represent an app, a game, an experience of some sort, and you’d be able to just reach out and touch it. Or, if you already knew what you wanted, you’d be able to simply speak a name, and have the object of your desire materialize out of thin air — regardless of whether you were using a smartphone or lazing in front of a TV set.

That’s the vision Microsoft was building with Windows 8, with Windows Phone, and most intriguingly, with Xbox.

That vision is dead.

Sounds neat, except they completely failed to deliver a product that improved over methods that were already in-place and time tested. And then further failed to give any kind of software to demonstrate just how useful and wonderful their 'vision' was.

1440p on my computer

I had previously been unable to decide if I wanted the PS4 or PC version. I was actually leaning toward the PS4, but now this has certainly made the PC the only choice.

I still chuckle that it's a higher resolution on the PS4 than the Xbone. MS really dropped the ball on this generation of consoles.

Why don't they just give all the kinetcs away? They already made them,,,Why is it better if they are just sitting in a warehouse somewhere?

No shit, imo an embarrassing joke of a generation. I'd say compatible incremental updated by end of 2015. Better CPU and GPU.

In an interview with Polygon today, Mehdi says the company's support of Kinect hasn't changed.

"We remain deeply committed to the Kinect as a core component of a next-generation console," he said. "We think that the bio-metric sign-in, voice controls of the menu, ability to say 'record that' and capture a moment of gameplay are all critical to the experience.

"We have never wavered from that since the launch."

Aha! Ahaha! Ahahahahahahahahaha! Oh thanks for that Yusuf. I needed the laugh. Winkrazz
