Mine died in January. I just tried to avoid everything yesterday...

Happy Mother's Day to all of you, and even if you and your parental units don't have the best of relationships, call them, and you never know how little time ya have left with them, and saying something as simple as 'I love you' can have all the meaning in the world.

As for the story on that webpage saying he had to sell his Lego collection.... thank god the BF is just a big kid as myself. Granted he did buy me a lego set (which I made him assemble, and I will NEVER do that to him again, I mean really I know they are made out of parts, but getting aggravated enough to throw them?!?).

It is normal to go into an apartment and there are just bare mattresses on the floor for kids to sleep on. No pillows, no blankets, no sheets. No clocks. 3am and kids are still up and running around. 'Merica.

Sounds like a scene out of The Wire. Not sure that it would help, but child-rearing should be a series of courses in highschool you must pass to graduate.

Sadly pretty common......

Why is that kid not in the care of CPS?

And that's so cool about the arm. The Six Million Dollar Man will soon be a reality!

heh. We should have a beer sometime....CPS doesn't do shit. I have forwarded no less than 50 reports to them about conditions that are not ok for these kids to be living in. Only 1 time did they ever do anything.....and the lady got the kids back a few weeks later, only for us to arrest her on a serious charge and take her kids away again....

Teen Calls Cops on Family; Cop Buys Him a Bed.

That's a sweet story, but as Cutter pointed out, something they're not telling us about the parents.

That site is a bit specious however, with stories like "Exploding head syndrome real" and "Man sells Legos to save marriage"
