As part of our continuing effort to combat gold spammers, botters and exploiters, we recently banned a number of accounts. After several players appealed, we were able to investigate the matter further and discovered some legitimate accounts got caught up in the sweep. We unbanned accounts last night, and have email responses going out for those affected from our support group. It is never our intention for legitimate players to be harmed as we work to keep your game free of cheaters, and we sincerely apologize for the mistake.

Combat looks like the only halfway decent thing to come out of this game, besides Angry Joe's review. The rest is really amateur for a MMO.
Or you've been so conditioned that you think you know what an MMO is supposed to be, that you can't even see innovation when it jumps up and bites you in the face.
For one, this is the first MMO where true exploration rewards you. I've always been making jokes about this "chest full of epic loot on top of that distant mountain" with my cousin while playing WoW. In ESO, I wouldn't be surprised if there'd be one somewhere you just wouldn't look.
The last MMO's I played were Dark Age of Camelot and Neocron, and both underwhelmed me so badly I avoided the whole genre since everything copied WoW anyway. At least they got the party stuff right. From what I see about Elder Scrolls Online questing with friends is almost completely broken and pointless. PVP sounds good and combat looks better than the average MMO, but I might as well play Skyrim again if they can't even get the basics like playing with friends nailed down. Who cares if you can go anywhere if it's a dull experience.
Do you work for Zenimax?

Plus there's this for the technical folks out there.
I'm glad I didn't pre-order this game. Now I know not to play it. I'll wait for Wildstar.
I didn't pre-order anyway. Ended up liking it so much I went out of my way to find a CE.
Tried Wildstar this weekend with a key from Alienware. I can't believe people are so excited for this game. It's the same graphics as 10 year old World of Warcraft with the same combat. The introductory quests seem completely unfinished (where do I go next?) and BORING. I only played for a couple of hours, and I felt like I'd played this game before.
Minus the graphics part (they are little better than WOW, but still pretty average), you could just as easily be talking about ESO.
But yeah, wildstar is terrible.
Except combat in ESO is nothing like combat in WoW. And ESO lacks the annoying "kill 10 monster" quests.
Yes it is, especially if you play a ranger. The combat is the worst part of the game IMO.
And instead of kill 10 monster quests, they have talk to 10 people or... put out 10 fires, or the riveting fetch quests.
Revolutionary stuff!!!
And now we know you've never played it.

If you guys want a good new MMO.. Wildstar is open beta this weekend. Just go to the website, sign up for an account.. throw your name in the hat for the beta.. boom, youre in.
Best MMO i have ever played (thus far). It's not free to play (THANK GOD)..but 15 a month will be nothing if you get tons of time out of this title.. and you will.
Seriously.. Wildstar is awesome right now in its beta form. Free to playtest this weekend.. get on it. Stop messing around with substandard BS like ESO.

If you've fallen through the world does that mean it happens to everyone?
No!

You're building a straw man argument. He never said it happened to everyone, just that it happened to him, multiple times, and therefore he didn't like the game. You countered that with a tone of "Well, it never happens to me, so it's an invalid argument."
It's a very, very, very, very, very, very, very often heard argument in PC gaming, and it's a terribly boring one. Be glad you didn't suffer from the issue. Other people are.
