Diablo III Reaper of Souls Launch Party

Blizzard will host a launch party in Los Angeles this evening to kick off tomorrow's launch of the new Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo III, their action/RPG sequel. The add-on should go live around midnight eastern time, and right around that time Game Director Josh Mosqueira and Senior Technical Game Designer Wyatt Cheng will be on the Diablo Twitch channel to celebrate the launch. Word is: "Josh and Wyatt will be coming to you live from the altar of the Vibiana to share the highlights of the evening's event and give a deeper look into Reaper of Souls and its development." This page has launch details for Reaper of Souls, including when it will be live in various territories.

Not to be debbie downer either but the buzz around the Crusader class wasn't very good in beta. Supposedly very slow and underpowered compared to other classes. Some of their loot seems to have the 1.0 design mentality too "remove X crappy downside from Y ability" instead of doing something really cool.

I'll be anxious to hear what people here think of them once they get into Torment. After playing a Wizard it is really hard to play anything else, they are just too damned good.

I’m off work tomorrow so I’ll be on tonight since I’m west coast. My plan is to play the Crusader all the way through tonight and get up tomorrow and finish it off. Since I play a Monk and a Barb, I will give you the feedback you’re looking for.

I’m really hoping the Crusader is not what you are saying. I have always preferred the Paladin when playing. So it will be a hugh disappointment if this class is underpowered. I’m already concerned about this class not getting the 30 percent damage resistance like the Monk and Barb has.

Any takers on you know who showing up and giving us all crap?

Combat is super fun but I just find myself bored with the games systems after some paragon farming

Yes, I'd love to see a company (like Crate/Grim Dawn, Relic/TL) take what Blizz did with D3's combat and over-the-top ragdoll physics and apply it to an ARPG that actually has you build a character that you care about because you actually put some thought into the build.

While I do have fun sending baddies 30' into the air with D3, I don't feel any attachment to my character(s) as pretty much everything is automated and there is no accountability behind building a character, no sense of ownership.

D3 is fun, but after about an hour or so of playing I find myself exiting to play something else out of boredom, even with coop. Fun but very shallow, which can be good at times for short bursts extreme demon killing.

I think I'm gonna sit out release week since the servers are usually pooched and see how reviews shake out. I've been enjoying Diablo 3 again which is nice but the same time Adventure/Bounties would need to go really far to keep me playing. Combat is super fun but I just find myself bored with the games systems after some paragon farming.

So yeah, gonna wait and see what people have to say about the length/quality of act 5, how the Crusader is and how bounties affect long term play.

I'm playing D3 right now for the first time & pretty much enjoying it. I'm level 21 Demon Hunter. I have a few legendary items I guess you're supposed to keep those.
