Duke Nukem Announcement This Month?

The domain alloutofgum.com is now active, though it currently displays a message saying the "application is offline for maintenance." An image on All Games Beta is purportedly from the site before the maintenance began, showing an empty pack of "Kick-Ass" bubblegum, recalling Duke Nukem's declaration that "it's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum." The image is topped by a countdown which shows 24+ days remaining, and they say this means the next Duke Nukem game will be announced at that time by Interceptor Entertainment. True to that, a whois search on the domain does list Interceptor Entertainment as the registrant, though if it turns out this is faked, it would not be the most elaborate hoax we've seen by a long shot. Stay tuned.

Pretty please. Please don't eff it up... Not sure about "vehicular sequences. :X

They moved on from Reloaded years ago after a falling out with Gearbox when they read the fine print in their bullshit license. Gearbox will not allow anyone else to release new Duke Nukem FPS games. Ever. Supposedly Interceptor is about to reveal Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction, a top down "ARPG" like game.

are we sure that this isn't a remake of "They Live" since I believe that's where the phrase "I'm here to to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum." originated from.

I'd rather have a remake of the original Duke 3D from those guys that remade Rise of The Triad.

But the assholes at Gearbox reneged on that deal.

EDIT:
and they say this means the next Duke Nukem game will be announced at that time by Interceptor Entertainment

WOOT! FUCK YEAH!

I hope it is a reamake and not a new game!!!

You know, I've never heard anything good about the RoTT remake. I remember when it came out there were several complaints about crap graphics, crap performance that was unbelievably bad for the crap graphics you had, crap optimization that caused several glitches and crashes, crap weapons, and crap checkpoint save system rather than the "save anywhere" one so many people say is superior (and since most times I see Checkpoint Save and Consolitis in the same sentence so often, seeing it not complained about in a PC game at this point would nearly blow my mind).
So, is it really not so bad as I've read, or is it a case of rose tinted glasses forgiving the games deficiencies?

Really?
The complaints that I heard that the checkpoint system sucks, the performance of the game is bad and some of the of the weapons, like pistols or machine guns, don't have much meat behind them.
Rocket launchers etc. on the other hand are really fun to use and the fast pace of the game makes it really fun game over all.

I waited after several months of patching and bought ROTT on sale. The checkpoint issues and poor optimization are no longer present. Right now it's a fairly decent old school inspired FPS. My only complaint is the same as when the original came out. Levels are simplistic and modular looking. There's very little variation in bad guys.

Here is some news from last year regarding a "Duke Nukem 3D Reloaded"

the wiki page

what it looks like: pig man and rocket launcher

The wiki page has the following quote:

"The problem was that Reloaded, in its then present state, was both a prettier and better game than Forever was. So they [Gearbox] could under no circumstances allow us [Interceptor] to publish it, show it, or do anything at all with it, because it would destroy the sales-opportunities they had left in Forever."

A duke nukem RPG though, um what? And that totally sucks that Reloaded didn't get released when it should have. Gearbox's duct-taped together, on rails, "Forever" is a pile of doo-doo. Gearbox needs to do the right thing and allow the game fans deserve to be released.

The only thing they can really do is a remake of Duke Nukem 1 and 2, to which Apogee still owns the rights. I sincerely doubt they went crawling back to Gearbox to continue a Duke 3D remake when they just released ROTT.

The project has been "on hold" presumed cancelled for ages owing to Forever and whatever other legal reasons.

That's the project I first referred to that Gearbox reneged on. Gave them permission, then took it away. Then they made ROTT.

So... either the announcement is going to be Reloaded has been taken off hold...

OR

If the message on the Duke4.net forums is correct... then the announcement will be about a top-down action RPG.

Get your games from GOG DAMMIT!

Actually, searching Google, wiki's, fansite forums and Youtube it sounds like Reloaded is old (VERY old news). The linked project pagae has apparently existed for ages.

Screenshots of early levels and even a small bit of video is out there. The project has been "on hold" presumed cancelled for ages owing to Forever and whatever other legal reasons. But it looks like its still alive, and this once fan-made project is going to finally get out there with some proper studio polish.

Funny to read it was held back for Forever's final Gearbox release as Reloaded looked prettier than Forever and would have killed any final hope of remaining sales!

AND it wouldn't take ten years either. It only took em a couple years to put together ROTT.
