ESO Imperial Edition Outed

GameTrailers has details on The Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition, a collector's version of Bethesda's upcoming MMORPG with digital and physical extras that was accidentally posted to Amazon's product page for Dishonored before the error was discovered and the information was removed. Here's word on the physical contents this listed:

  • Collector's Edition Box & Steelbook Packaging
  • Molag Bal Statue – A collectible 12" statue featuring Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement
  • Map of Tamriel – A printed map detailing alliance-controlled zones and the ultimate conquest: Cyrodiil
  • Emperor's Guide to Tamriel – A 224-page illustrated guide annotated by the Imperial scholar, Flaccus Terentius

This is a plain cash grab by Bethesda. When you charge $60 for a boxed copy + $15 a month subscription fee ALL non cosmetic content should be available to everyone. A monthly subscription fee means you are entitled to all the gameplay relevant content in the game.

Having an exclusive race would only be acceptable for F2p games or mmo's with no sub fees. Imagine if Wow had an exclusive race for people who only bought the collectors edition.

This. The same guy who was early and paid a few dollars extra ONCE can be a freaking Imperial while I pay just as much a fee per month as him. It's so uncharming. We're not talking freaking vanity pets here. It's another RACE that most people probably wanna be due to the neutral nature of the race both in looks and stats. WoW released 1 new race per EXPANSION. People who bought said expansion got the new race along with hundreds of hours of content.
