Thats it, i'm going to copyright the word "The" anytime anyone uses it, they'll be paying me (mostly my demonspawn lawyer)

This is what makes this thing so confusing to me. You're not supposed to be able to copyright commonly used words. I really don't see how they can possibly win this. IF they do, then this will set a pretty absurd precedent.

They'll make a killing in royalties from dictionaries!

And here i thought candy crush saga was related to the comic book Saga with the giant space alien penis and sex scenes in it that's been out a few years now.

The best part is they totally contradict themselves between their filing and the response to Kotaku. This won't go anywhere.

It's not surprising given that they just trademarked the word Candy the other day.

It IS pretty ridiculous though. Completely different game style, different market, different art, different platform, etc. etc. And Saga is a pretty commonly used word in game titles. In fact, I think there was a game just named "Saga."

Seriously though, I'd like to see them try and go after Lego instead of picking on some indie dev. Wankers.

it's pretty insane...

They really need to fire everyone currently at the USTPO and hire some competent people.

I imagine the strategy meeting at the Candy Crush Tower looks like generals standing around a war room table, but instead of little tanks, it is a Candy Crush board.

And the problem becomes impossible to solve without buying the $4.99 "extra moves" in game purchase.

The Banner Saga's trademark filing is being opposed by the makers of Candy Crush Saga.

Hahaha you have to be kidding.
